Akron Star Shines, Local Pros Shine Too | Cleveland Guardians News

Ryan Cesarini’s hitting streak is off the charts—he smashed six homers and drove in 11 runs in four games, including a triple-header blast in one outing, earning him Eastern League Player of the Week. Since jumping to Double-A in July, he’s hit .385 with eight homers and 22 RBIs, proving he’s primed for the majors. Meanwhile, pitcher Mason Black earned his third Royals call-up this season, posting a solid ERA in relief while also contributing innings with Omaha. Local star Max Kranick shut down the Mets in a scoreless inning, showing he’s got what it takes against top competition. On the flip side, Adam Retzbach was released by Baltimore after a modest .197 average in 68 games—another reminder that baseball’s grind can be unforgiving.
