Alabama Man Wins $20,000 on a Mississippi Scratch-Off Ticket

The new Mississippi lottery is up and running and the first big winner has been announced. Scratch off tickets have been selling at a solid pace for the past four weeks. Following a $2000 in-state winner early in December, a gentleman from Alabama recently won $20,000. The scratch-off ticket was purchased at the Scarlet Pearl Casino. The Scarlet Pearl is located in D’Iberville and this was one of the first casinos to sell the lottery tickets. William C. from Alabama won his Christmas gift on a Triple 777 scratch-off. This would allow the expansion of the coin-operated amusement machines. Players would build up points that could be used for merchandise and lottery tickets. Proceeds would support the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery with a 20 percent tax. Points would not be redeemable for cash.
