Alabama’s Linebackers Are Playing DIFFERENT in Fall Camp

Alabama Football's inside linebacker room may be developing into one of the most important — and most underrated — stories of fall camp.After losing Deontae Lawson, Justin Jefferson and Nikhai Hill-Green from last year's defense, Alabama entered 2026 with major questions at inside linebacker. Those three players combined for 234 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 2025.But something interesting is happening in fall camp.Kane Wommack has been praising the increased aggressiveness of Alabama's linebackers, and sophomore Luke Metz has emerged as one of the biggest names to watch. Wommack has said Metz is playing at a very high level, while Kalen DeBoer specifically pointed to Metz's ability to run sideline-to-sideline and improve on every snap.
