Alan Davies Says There Is One Irish Comedy That Brings His Family Together

Alison Curtis is joined on Weekend Breakfast by comedian, actor and QI legend Alan Davies, ahead of his long-awaited return to touring Ireland after a decade away. They chat about his new stand-up show Think Ahead, what it’s like hitting the road again at 60, and why he’s still loving the risk and buzz of being on stage — even if travelling isn’t as easy as it used to be. Alan also shares behind-the-scenes stories from QI (including the one episode he missed… for Arsenal), his love of Derry Girls, and how becoming a dad shaped his life, his books, and what he chooses to bring into his comedy. Catch Alan live: Cork Opera House Oct 12, Ulster Hall Belfast Oct 13, and 3Olympia Theatre Dublin Oct 14.
