Albertans Vote by Mail in Big Referendum | Calgary News

Alberta’s big referendum is heating up with nearly half a million special ballot requests — over 330K packages already sent, and 24K approved. A small glitch caused 313 missing ballots, fixed with replacements, while 7,200 applications were delayed due to form errors. Deadline to apply: Sept 25. Pick up your ballot from Sept 21 at your local office — but wait for contact to avoid mix-ups. Mail it back by Oct 9, with final drop-off at 5 PM Oct 16. The surge? No longer needing a reason to vote + multiple referendum questions. And hey, still need poll workers — 48K applicants, 25K hired. Peace River and Fort McMurray still hiring. Want to help?
