We like to call it the Supernatural Hour. And now, our host. Hey, welcome to the Supernatural Hour podcast. I'm your host, Raven.

This is Doc. This is Chad. And we have a guest with us. Before we introduce the guest, Emmet and Rogue, just couldn't make it today.

They had some things pop up, so they will be here with us next time. But we have with us today, Myrna. And I'm going to let her introduce herself and what she does. How are you, Matt?

And how are we, Matt? So take it away. Thank you. You know, things don't just happen by coincidence.

And we were actually hiking on a beautiful pathway that was here up in the mountains in Utah. And I am so glad we were able to meet. We happened to be hiking and something made us stop. For the last 30 years, Heaven has set me hearts.

And so it is that I'm getting ready to do a podcast where I invite people to actually share miracles that happen in their life, where they have seen the hand of Heaven in their life. Just recently, I have had this experience where life sometimes has trials. And when you have a trial, we are to learn, we're to move through it. And this is what I am experiencing.

I always knew in my cookbook series called Miracles in Meals that I would collect people's stories. And my third book was to be called Miracles in Meals for Widows and Those that have Lost a Love One and How You Still Feel They're Still Close. I never thought I would be the front row character of that book, but I knew the title and just kind of held it in my heart. Well, my grandmother from many, many years ago, when she passed away through the veil, I've learned she sends me hearts.

When my mother passed away, I think she passed the baton, and then my mother sends me hearts. I'll just find them randomly. And when I do, I know that Heaven is saying, just remember, we love you. Well, 11 months ago, my husband, unfortunately, passed away.

Something that I didn't expect at all. And there's a whole story behind that. But in that beautiful sense of hearing a whisper, he whispered to me, honey, I will send you hearts. And so it is, he sends hearts randomly, I will find them.

And so this podcast is literally to help people who are in grief and how they have maybe experienced a loss of any kind, and how we can move through it and actually have healing. And along with that, I hope to show people that miracles still happen today. And the interesting thing is, the way we met is I had taken a youth group on a hike, and we were going up, we were still fresh and happy on this hike. We weren't talking, it's actually a short hike, it's cute.

But if you're in Utah County, Battle Creek Falls, it's a really cute hike. So we were going up, murder was coming down, and she had stopped for just a moment, and she said, look at this heart-shaped rock that I found. And it really kind of stood out to me because there's a girl that I went to school with, who her husband passed away about a year ago as well. And from COVID, not very old, probably, you know, when it was mid-fifties.

And this friend of mine will post on Facebook every couple days hearts that her husband sends her. And so I was like, oh, when we're not, I've got this friend who has the same thing that happens. And my friend from high school, she will find hearts in snow, in the egg, in a breakfast, in a cloud, and she'll just post the spich of his heart that she's taken. And she will say, you know, my husband is looking at me for me, he sent me another heart today.

So I told her to that story, and then that's just kind of why we're here. So would you like me to tell you a story about a necklace with a heart? Yes, tell us the story. So just quickly, just this week I went to a healing conference, and I happened to be looking at the different booths.

This is a special thing that happened. When I went to one of the vendor booths, I happened to stop, and I saw all of these necklaces. And I looked down, and of course the one that stood out, that just was calling my name, was this red necklace that I'm wearing. And the necklace is red, and it actually has a rose at the top.

It has angel wings that come down. It's absolutely beautiful. It is beautiful. But the lady that was selling them had no idea that when my husband passed away, I whispered through the veil, honey, I'm going to get your kisses now.

You're in heaven. And the feeling was, I will send you roses and hearts. And so it is, on this necklace, there is a rose at the top, and it is a whole heart. And she said, you know, when you came by, I have the strangest feeling, your husband wants me to give you this necklace.

It's from him. And she put it in my hand and said, it's yours. Oh, that is really sweet. And it's been a while, and I don't even remember what podcast it is.

It just kind of came to me. I mean, I don't know. On the hike, I thought about it a little bit. But we have talked about things that angel sent to us as messages that they're there.

And I heard from the pennies, feathers, hearts, butterflies. I did a funeral. I played backpipes at funerals. I played at a funeral for a family.

And they said that their father sent hawks at to say hello. And so they were looking around the cemetery trying to find, you know, where, when he passed, walking around the cemetery, trying to figure out where they were going to bury him. No hawks in the sky anywhere. And apparently that was his favorite cemetery.

And so, you know, they're walking around where you want to go, where you want to go to bed. And they kind of turned out this corner. When they turned the corner, one child just happened to glance up, and there was a hawk circling. And so they're like, right there, right there's where you need to go.

So I definitely believe that spirits send us messages in ways that we can recognize them and understand them. So I think the hard story is amazing. And part of my podcast, I have the oil for it's called the Angel Sent Club. So people can share their stories of how their loved ones send them emblems.

So as a reminder, do you have like websites, emails set up that people can send those yet? We get them ready because we're in process right now to have our miracles and meals.com. We put up. It's not completely, it was up, but they're changing things.

So we should be up soon. So if you're listening to this and you have one of those stories, you can send it to me. And I can make sure that Merta gets it until they get everything squared away. Well, thank you.

Yeah, and that can just come to our advanced paranormal URL. Yeah, like when you used to send hate mail to Castle, just send your email. I'm just kidding. And these stories are amazing.

Just amazing. And people have their personal experiences where they know their loved ones send them that emblem. And it's amazing how it's so personalized and it's from their loved ones that have passed on. And it's just a neat connect.

It's awesome. So we're excited. We're excited to listen and hear what happens. Okay, for the business, it's brought to you today by Castle Photo Art and Castle Nature Studio.

Go to Castle for your photo needs. We did have a paranormal investigation, a public event, which we'll talk about a little bit in our investigations part. Right now we don't have anything scheduled, but we will be looking for some new paranormal investigations, public investigations in the near future. So our next one should be in roughly six weeks.

And we will try to have it set up here this week. So by the time you hear this, it should be up. If it's not, then Raven had a bad week. Okay, that's it for the business.

Okay, so residential's. Actually, it's interesting because you've heard us say a few times that summer gets hard because no one has everyone's outside. And they forget their house is haunted, but that's not the case. We've actually had two since we did our last podcast.

So the first one was actually referred to us by a medium that we work with often. She's amazing. There's just some little thing about this particular home that she called us in to put like those some extra eyes and extra fingers on. And this one was an interesting one in that it was targeting the two children.

The two children were very, very sensitive. The parents, not so much. They were 13 and 10. The little boy could see a portal in his room to the point where he says, yeah, it's a green portal.

And the little girl could see a spirit that was kind of spider-like. That's how she described him. And it was interesting when we went to this residential, you know, we had to explain a little bit what was going on. And then, you know, we just kind of did a, we like to do kind of a cold walk through and to see what we can feel.

And, you know, to see if something, a certain part of the house kind of stands out more than the others. And I went downstairs, I mean a bunch of those went downstairs, but when I went downstairs, I went the lights off. And I turned the corner and at the end of the hall, because I was walking to the little boy's room, I wanted to see if I could see a green portal. And I walked in.

And you couldn't get you. That's not one of your gifts. No, portals could tap down some of my head and be like, yeah, so I'm walking towards the little boy's room. At the end of the hall, I went to turn into the little boy's room.

He was a little, he was 13. Turned into the young man's room. And I thought, oh, when I come out, I'm going to see what's in that closet at the end of the hall. Because something there kind of drew my attention.

So I went in, this is this and that is that. And then I looked, I couldn't see the portal. So then I walked across the hall to the other room, and we're kind of looking around in there, no fields in there. And I came back out and I thought, oh, I need to go check, see what's in that closet.

But then someone called my name. And so I went down to the other end of the basement and looking around again and doing some stuff. And look at this meter and look at that meter. And then finally, like 15 minutes later, I thought, okay, I need to go check that closet and see what's up.

So I flipped the light on so I could find a handle. There was no closet there. No closet. Plain wall with picture on it.

And I was like, why did I think there was a closet there? And so I called Emmet and I'm like, Emmet, come here. I was, what do you feel here? And he goes, well, it feels like there should be a door there.

I'm like, I know right? I said, but there's not a door there. So we went around. We thought, well, maybe there's something on the other side of it.

And we're just feeling it through the wall. So we walked around into the closet to where the back side of it was. And it's just, I mean, it was just a wall. There was no, like a doorway.

So the medium that had called us to this home, she was downstairs a few minutes later. And we said, what? What is up with this wall right here? And I said, I just keep thinking there's a door there and there's no door there on either side.

And she says, thank you. And she called it a matrix. But there's some sort of a, and I don't know what matrix to her is. I don't know if it's what we would call a portal.

I don't know what was going on. But there was something about that spot that just was not good. I'm going to blame the architect on that one. I'm just kidding.

She's in a door here. Just saying. We did get an EVP. And Denise sent that to me days ago.

She asked me yesterday if I listened to it. I said, no. I don't want to give out the boy's name. But the boy, we were down in his room and doing an EVP session.

And what Denise caught on the EVP was the spirit saying this boy's first initial and the last name. So that's between his name was Doc. Okay. Which it was.

It was something else. But the EVP that we got says the boy. But it's a different initial. But for privacy, we don't reveal that.

But it was very interesting. So there were seven type three's. And if you're new, you've just started listening to us. Those are what you would call a demonic entity or evil spirit.

They each had a portal. There were seven portals in that one. So we got all the portals closed. We got we cleansed.

We taught the kids how to protect themselves and to keep those attachments away. It was a really good investigation. It was the spirits didn't want to chat with us very much. Other than the EVP that we got, I don't think we got a whole lot of evidence on that one.

But it definitely felt. Yeah, the family could feel the difference completely. Definitely lighter on the left. And they were very involved with this with cleansing in the house.

And it was a little girl ringing the bell and demanding the spirits to leave was awesome. Yeah, we usually have adults do it. But since these spirits were kind of targeting the kids, we actually had the kids take the ownership of it and let them do it. And it was interesting.

They were actually helpless and investigate a little bit. And some parents are like, oh, I don't want my kids there. But this family was pretty open. And because it was targeting the kids, they wanted the kids there.

Yeah, it wasn't like the kids. They didn't want the kids to know what was going on because it's the kids that brought it up to them on what was going on. And they were being impacted. But they were asking questions and the EVP's and good questions.

I was going to say it gives them an opportunity to feel empowered. And that's such a big part of it too. Right. It changes your entire psyche, I guess, when it comes to dealing with things like that, you feel like you have tools, you have resources.

And that's probably a big reason why the parents wanted the children to be involved was so that they knew that they were taking them seriously. They were addressing the issue and they were working to get a result. Yes. And again, no news is good news.

I haven't heard back from them. So we're just going to go under the assumption that everything is okay, because usually if things come back, they call us. Or if things aren't better, they call us and I have heard back from them. I also hate to reach out and say, hey, it's everything okay, because I don't want to go well now that you mention it.

So we just kind of let it lay. So the other one we did was for a gentleman a little further north. And he just felt like he was being attacked personally. When we went to visit him, he had some health issues that he said were kind of newer.

He says he could feel the spirits kind of serpentine between his feet. And there was definitely some negative energy in that home as well. And so we found an object that we felt had an attachment to it. And there was a portal in that home that we also cleansed.

And we also chatted with the gentleman just about how to also how to keep things from following him to kind of take ownership in his personal space. You know, that just because something was there, pestering him, he didn't need to allow it to be there. That one, I'm trying to think, I took several pictures hoping to catch something, but I didn't get any photographic evidence on that one. I do have some EDPs that I have not had a chance to listen to.

So maybe you'll have some EDPs there. But you know, after we left after we did the cleansing, after we chatted with him about some of the reasons and ways that spirits like that might be there, that home also felt quite a bit better. Yeah, that was an interesting one. We had a pretty good team out on that one.

And it was a smaller trailer. So it wasn't a very big space, but we were able to go out and do a good quality investigation and help him with a lot of the things that he had. That one was interesting. There was a table that we thought might have an attachment to it.

And we did. I was thinking there was something that was cool that happened here. I don't remember what I do. And I'm actually going to put this up on TikTok.

Emmett was there and he had his SLS out. And we did get a little bit of interaction with the Ghost Meter Pro. I guess no questions. And they actually got on the SLS, the stick figure.

And every time they would answer a question in the SLS, you would see an arm reach out towards the SLS. Because sometimes you think is it just mapping the chair as a person? Right. And I think there's times where that does add in.

Absolutely. People are like, look, there's something in the light. It's like, no, it's mapping the light. But the fact that every time it answered a question, you saw an arm reach out was kind of like, ooh, I think that's actually a spirit that is matching.

We've got another SLS thing as we talk about another investigation that we did, which Raven has forgot about. Yes, I have because I'm staring at you with this blank. The return investigation that we had the other night over by the Jordan River in Saratoga Springs. Still drawn a blank.

Oh, my gosh. And we were upstairs and there was a cross on the wall. I've had a long day. I've had a very long day today.

So apparently we had three investigations. Sorry. Yeah, so this was a return investigation. We'd gone there before.

We'd gotten rid of some real heavy energy. The first time we went was what? Maybe just a couple months ago? It was in the late winter, early spring.

So it's been four or five months. So she called us back. And she says, you know what, I don't think it's the same spirit, but there's definitely something here. And we walked upstairs.

And when you walk upstairs, you kind of walk up and then you turn a corner. And the first time we were there was a very heavy feel. But the type three that was bothering her was just in the room behind that wall. And so we just thought, what's that?

And the first time we were there, we closed it. Everything felt so much lighter. It was amazing. So anyway, we go back.

We go upstairs, turn the corner. There's still that heavy feel right where we felt it. Lighter than it had been the first time. Yeah, not as heavy, but it's like there's just something that's not good with this corner.

So we went into the room and did the investigation. Turns out it was the same spirit that we had kicked up before. It had just not been there long enough to really get its hooks in. And it was kind of like just testing the waters.

But as through yes, no questions. It actually reopened its portal in a different spot because it left a marker in a crucifix that was on the wall outside. You know, so we come around the corner. Ooh, this wall is creepy.

There's a crucifix there. So this time we closed the portal and we took the crucifix down. And we cleansed that as well. One of our new investigators, Skyler, had his SLS.

And this is where I was saying on the SLS. And I was standing in the doorway of the room, on the outside of the room because we had several people inside. And it was just like, oh, there's plenty of people in there. I will back out a little bit.

And we knew that the entity was in the room. So we salted across the doorway. So it couldn't get out. We put it in, had it in the room.

So we knew where it would be. So we could do cleansing edition a little bit later. But Skyler on his SLS, he was doing it and was seen in the doorway right next to me. You could see me standing there and it wasn't mapping on my body.

And you could see my form in the SLS. But you could see this smaller humanoid form, you know, the stick-fickier form. And it was there for a long time. It was there minutes.

It was really quite interesting. Skyler has that information footage. It's really interesting. And usually if you're going to get a false mapping like on a bus, or a chair, or a dress, or something, it kind of melts back and forth.

Because it's like, oh, this person, no, it's not. Yes, it is. No, it's not. But this figure just kind of remains steady.

And it wasn't really anything important to map on. And it was really interesting because it didn't map on me. Right. Which I, that's what they were built for.

Right? I was standing back a little bit. These types of cameras were built to detect motion from people. For the Xbox.

Exactly. And it wasn't shorter than you. It was mapping shorter than you. And if it's going to map on the doorframe, it would be the same size as the doorframe.

It wouldn't be half the doorframe. Right. And it wasn't like it was mirroring your movement. No, it wasn't projecting off of you or anything.

So, yeah, we've had three investigations. Also, just so you know, we already have one set up. So we'll have it on our next podcast. So this summer, summer's usually quite, but this summer's hopping with investigations.

The ghosts aren't going on vacation this summer, huh? Yes, prices are too high. That's right. They can't afford it.

Inflation, guys. So with that investigation, what did you do to close that up and take care of things there? We close the portal, cleanse the cross. And I did get feedback because this was actually Skyler's friend.

Skyler and Vivian's friend. It was actually Vivian that got ahold of me. And she said, hey, I just want you to know that my friend slept like a log for the first time in months last night. So that's good to be able to help people.

That's what Wisps is all about. Did you want to talk about Benson? Oh, we did go to the Benson Griss Mill on... I forgot something.

It's not just... I know. We did go to Benson Griss Mill on Friday night. And we had a really great investigation there.

The groups were a little bit smaller. We had four areas and we were able to just have two groups go around the four areas. So there wasn't a lot of contamination of other people. And if you wanted to stay in an area a little longer, you could.

Or if you wanted to move an area, you could do it. So it was really nice and really pleasant. A lot of activity in the mill itself. You were out more than I was.

I was at the base camp a good deal at the time. But I did hear people talking in a very positive way about what a great experience they had. Yeah, so first of all, there's a family of raccoons that have moved into the mill. So you have to be a little more discerning with your strange noises when you're there.

And we ran into a baby raccoon as we were wandering around. Where we were, it was hard to backtrack. It was easier to go forward. But you're like, one, I don't want to scare the baby raccoon and have a bite me and give me rabies.

Two, I don't want to scare the baby raccoon and have mom jump out and bite me and give me rabies. So there was a moment of tenseness there. Some real fear at any ghost time. First time I've been scared at a ghost time in a while.

But anyway, we were able to pass the baby raccoon. No one got rabies. So yay. Always a win.

Always a win when no one gets rabies. So yeah. Coming from the medical profession. So no rabies.

But there was actually, I have never gotten a lot of activity back at the school. But we did have a lot of activity within the mill itself. We had a lot of people that reported smelling sulfur smells in various parts of the mill. Skyler got attacked, which is not unusual.

Those negative spirits love to attack him. The lady in the room that hates me. She was pretty active. We've got some more information.

She's a little younger than we thought. Yeah. And you had a therapist help you with that part of the investigation. It's my understanding.

We had a license therapist that happened to be on our team. And he actually had a good chat with her. So hopefully she's chilled out a little bit. What was my ghost girlfriend there?

That's where we're talking about. Ah, I see. That was who it was. That was an interesting investigation.

So tell them what happened with your ghost girlfriend. Oh, in one of the rooms there at the Benson Grissombeau. The Loom Room. The Loom Room.

It's such a cool venue, such a cool location. Yeah. I had an E-meter like a K-2 meter that would just fire up, like solid. Every time I would go in that room and it would be interesting because I'd pass it to somebody else and it would just dive back down and go to zero.

And then I would take it again and fire back up, which should not happen. At least, you know, my scientific mind says doesn't make any sense. So let's get the back story. Some of you have heard this before, but we have a lot of new listeners.

And it's a fun story. It's a fun story. So the Benson Grissombeau is just a large enough venue. You cannot investigate the whole thing in one night.

You know, if you want to spend any quality time, you've got to go back three, four, five times to really, you know, get every little nook and cranny, at least. And so the first few times that we went, I didn't go in the Loom Room. I think they call it something else. I call it the Loom Room Room because that's fun to say.

There's a Loom in there. Hence the Loom. Anyway, but every time I went, the first three or four times I would walk past the Loom Room, and I could just tell that something was staring me down and hated me. Finally, after several trips there, I thought, I'm going to go in there and see what on earth the deal is.

And I go, and I could tell that something was like pinching my elbows. So, you know, yes, no questions through the K2 meter. The other ghost meter pro found out that she was mad at me because she thought I stole her man. And so she was mad at me for two or three visits.

And finally, I had to talk with her and I said, hey, look, do I look like I'm where the same close that you did? I'm holding up myself on this. Did you have something like, it is 150 years in the future. I was not a glimmer in anybody's eye when someone stole your man.

Anyway, so we got everything else moved out. We were friends. And we've been to Benson a lot of times. So, you know, we were friends for two or three more visits.

Well, then we decided to take Doc K. Dot come to Benson Grissmill with us. Okay. I said, sure.

Let's give it a go. So I'm like, hey, come in the Loom Room. Meet my friend. You were no longer the friend?

I was no longer the friend because apparently Doc looks like her man. So I, who said I didn't steal her man, walk in with someone who looks like her man. It was all over. It was an odd thing.

It was an interesting thing. She was like, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And this is my man.

And I was stapling him the whole time. And I was like, oh, for that's actually a good investigation. She still pissed at me. I'm sorry.

Okay. So there was a lot of activity at the mill. Yes. At the mill itself.

I've heard some people. There was something that was happening up on the third floor. You remember what that was? That was, there was a million sulfur in the basement and up on the third floor.

The third floor is where Skyler got attacked by the dark entity. The entity. And then he also got caressed by the woman in white. Oh.

His talent. He gets the feels. Things like to manifest. Manifest.

To touch on him. Oh, and Vivian. And this has never happened before that I have seen. We were in the basement of the mill and she got very, very nauseous.

And I've never seen her have a, I mean, she's been on several investigations with us. And I have never seen her have a physical reaction like that. So, yeah, we had to get her back to base camp. And it took us probably 15, 20 minutes to get her feeling back to normal.

So it was a good investigation. Yeah. So next time we go, come on out with us. It's a great time for Vincent Grissemell is it's historic.

It's, you know, it's back to the, what, 1850s, 1856 when it was built. 1854? 1854. And they brought in from all over to Willa County when they are going to put homes or something on an area and there's a historic building.

They bring it to this area where the Vincent Grissemell is. So originally there was only like two or three buildings and now there's what? 15? Yeah, something like that.

I mean, like I say, it's hard to investigate it well in one night. I know it's been featured on one of those travel channel co-shows. So, fairly recently too, actually. So you can also go out on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.

I think she said from 10 to 6. And just, just, you know, not even to go send it. For the historic. And there's no charge.

I mean, they accept donations. I keep saying I'm going to take my kids out there just to look at Pioneer stuff and see what it looks like in the daytime. Yeah, for a change, right? It is an awesome venue both for go studying and just for historical things.

You can go out and look it up on the web and see pictures. It's really cool. Okay. All right.

Let's head into our main topic. We're out to you by Otayos, which is a fabulous Mexican restaurant located in Linda, Utah. Fine food, Mexican restaurant. If you have a hankering for some, some good Mexican food, go check them out.

Can I add one thing before we get to the main topic? I'm going to any way. Even if I said no. So somebody is opposed to making a agenda so we all know what to say and what to do next.

And kind of where we're going next. And yeah, I didn't. So we also have to do a little shout out to Castle PhotoArt. I already did.

Did you? You're the one with the agenda before business. I sure did. Let's leave this in.

I am having really bad news. Okay. Moving on. Maybe I should just go take a nap and let you guys finish this.

We got to get to the main topic. It's not like it's complex or deep. No, no, not at all. All right.

We're going to talk about alchemy today. When you guys think of alchemy, I mean don't go into what you've researched. First off, alchemy. Lead to gold.

Okay. My first thought was exoteric or esoteric. Yeah, whatever. There's that.

So, Marta, if I say alchemy, do you have any thoughts that come to your head? Something that changes into something else. Okay. So apparently I have the brain of like a 12-year-old child because when I first heard of alchemy, I'm not first heard about when I thought that would be a good topic.

I thought of two things. One, Harry Potter. There's the Harry Potter reference. The movie reference.

Okay. So I was, several years ago, on one of my first cell phones, you know, like in the mid-'90s, I had an alchemy game. And it was really fun. And I can't find it.

And I'm sad. An alchemy game. There's a game. And it was really cool.

The rooms were black and they would light up. They, I don't even remember how it worked. Yeah, to clear the board of all the red ones, I don't remember. But it was really fun and I can't find it.

There's like candy crush with mercury and sulfur. With deadly materials. Exactly. It kind of dabbles more into the rooms.

Yeah, I just need to go check it out. Okay. Don't candy crush with the mercury. Nope.

When I was little, kids would bring mercury to school and play with another desk. Just for fun? Yeah. Yeah, really?

Yeah. And then they all, and I would play my desk. I'd roll it around in my palm. That is what's wrong with you.

That explains a lot, doesn't it? That explains everything. Okay. So, so, seriously.

So, alchemy. It's a doctor thing. It's a doctor thing. It's a pre-doctor thing.

What I know about alchemy. It's a precursor to chemistry and modern medicine in a lot of ways. It was practiced pretty widely throughout the world, places in China, India, Egypt. It's said originated in Egypt.

And the best... I have a whole list of history. Oh, well, but you go out and do go. I was going to say the form, I think, that most people recognize or identify as European variant of alchemy.

That's the, you know. Well, maybe the most people in China recognize the Chinese various people here in the United States, maybe. You know, that's the whole, you know, sorcerer, wizard, science, or show, how long it's sitting in a lab, mixing chemicals and poof and trying to take that base material that led and transmute it into gold into a more noble substance. Yeah.

So, one of the things that I found was basically the idea of alchemy, you know, precursor to a little bit more legitimate science. I hate to say that. This is when people were trying to, they were trying to science but didn't have the knowledge. Yeah, absolutely.

But basically it was the process of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary in a way that couldn't be explained. And, you know, they were noticing scientific things, but they didn't have the prior knowledge to understand why some of these things were happening. And here's a really good example. I wrote my notes, so it's going to be super exciting how well I can read them.

So there was a Greek, and this is, I'll go through my list of history in just a second. We have a joke about lists, murders, so they say I always have lists. I really don't, but I kind of always do. So, now if they're just written down things in lines, they're not really lists.

They're bullet points. They're bullet points. Okay. So here's an example of kind of the thought process.

So this would be kind of in the Greek era. So there was an alchemist, his name was, I don't speak Greek. Empedocles, empedocles. Close enough.

Run with it. Run with it, folks. So he would like to stick on fire. Okay.

And, you know, they've got the elements, they figured out the elements, air, water, fire, earth. So, you know, they had decided on those, kind of thought about which one was the main element. But they, for the point of this discussion, he would like to stick on fire. And he would say, since the stick burns, it contains fire.

Okay. And then they said, and now it leaves a residue. You know, after it burns, it leaves that, you know, so what we would call it. So, therefore it contains earth.

So the stick has fire, the stick has earth. And then they said, you know, the residue is damp. So there's water in the stick. Okay.

And then the fourth thing, they said the burning stick goes off smoke. Therefore, air is present. So, I mean, you can see they're trying to figure things out. Right.

They just didn't quite have it on the mark. So that is part of alchemy, you know, is the elements and how the elements deal with each other. Okay. Wait a minute, right?

I need to quiz you on something. Okay. What is the word alchemy? What does it mean?

Oh, I know this. There's actually two different, there's two. Hang on. Okay.

If you don't go in order of my notes, then you have to wait. So it's actually an Arabic word? Yes. That's why you might know it.

Which is achimia. It's also thought it could be, it could come from a Greek word. And what does achimia mean in Arabic? I don't know.

Okay. Hang on. I read it down because I just looked it up. I don't know all the Arabic words.

I just know some of the Arabic words. Hang on. Okay. Should I tell you what I heard?

No. Okay. Now you can tell us what you're going to speak. And you may find it different in your notes, but the one that I went through, I think the al, what does al mean?

All means the. Okay. And kimia is kish, which is the ancient name for Egypt. So it's the Egypt.

That's where the origin of alchemy came from. It's the way that I understand it. Now you may have some other information. If I look at my list, which I just found.

I do have a list. I do have a list. Sometimes I don't have lists and you say I do, but this is an actual. List.

There are a viable list. It has bullet points that I wrote with my pen. That is a list. I won't be able to read what I wrote.

Okay. So basically they kind of consider Egyptians to be the first alchemists, at least as far as they have any record of. So you know, you're thinking they're saying 2000 BC. I'm actually studying ancient Egypt right now.

Ancient Egypt goes back to like 6000 BC, but I digress. But I think 2000 BC is pretty ancient in and of itself for us. I can go with it. I have four thousand years ago.

Yeah. I mean, you can go further back and it's even more ancient, but I would be okay with calling it. One year, one year contemplating the nature of things 4000 years ago and burning sticks. And I guess I was in Greece, but still.

No, it was in Egypt. It was in Egypt. It was the Alexander the Great influence in Egypt at the time. In the realm of ancient Egypt, 2000 BC is actually like pretty new.

Yeah. Someone said that we digress. I know we're going to digress a little more, but I heard that Cleopatra lived closer to our age than she did to the building of the pyramids. Yes, she did.

So you think about that and how far the pyramids go back in ancient Egypt and we were just there. That is such a long culture, 6000 years. And that Cleopatra is closer to our time than she was to the building of the pyramids. That's crazy.

Anyway. Back to alchemy. So Egyptian alchemists, you know, in this whole process of trying to take one thing and turn it to another thing, they tried to make gold by painting the surface of lead with egg yolk. And some people think that alchemy comes from the Greek word that means Egyptian art because of how they would try to change that.

I'm going to say if you can take egg yolk and paint on lead and make gold, we need to get some lead because we have a lot. I'm sending Murgahome with eggs today because we have a lot of eggs. I hope you like eggs. You're rich.

I think Raven picked up two new chickens. We are chicken ranchers. Chicken farmers. Okay, I guess chicken ranch has a different conicatation.

I get to go chicken farm. In fact, I was almost a little late to my own podcast because one of my chickens escaped and I had to go put it back. Nice. Moving on.

So then kind of the next era of alchemy would be the Greek and Romans, which would be roughly 600 BC to 580. They started, they kind of took what the Egyptians had a little bit, kind of ran with that. But the interesting thing about the Greeks is they thought that as far as science theory was more important than the actual application of the science. They were thinkers, not so much doers.

That's just their academics. They're long-time academics. Nothing to go way back about it. We'll think about it a lot.

We'll think about it, but we're not actually going to apply it. It's like in the Wizard of Oz where the great thinkers don't do anything. They think. So then the next phase would be the medieval Europe and Islamic states, which is interesting because they're kind of opposite.

So obviously in the Dark Ages science suffered, nothing for happening in ways that science didn't happen. Just science was heretical at that time. One of the things was at the time only monks could read, and so they only kept the science that didn't go against what science may have been in the Bible. So anything new or anything different than what the Bible said, they just discounted.

Or even if the Bible didn't say it, but it was the common belief of the Church, like the Earth was the center of the universe, and to have the Earth fall around the sun. That's heresy. Right. And so because of that, in Europe, a lot of what little breakthroughs they made in science, like you can't put a giokon letting it get cold, kind of went away.

Luckily, the Islamic scholars who dealt a lot with the Greeks, they kept the work going and extended it. The problem is there wasn't a lot of exchange with the East and the West until after the Crusades. And so that knowledge didn't get back into Europe quite soon. There was some exchange between the East and the West with the Crusades.

It just wasn't a exchange. It wasn't friendly. It wasn't a change. You want to sit down and talk about science.

There was none of that. We were at Saladin's Palace, just by the fact he was the Islamic half of the Crusades. Part of the Crusades, because they went for like a hundred years. He was probably the most popular.

No, he was one of the greatest Islamic generals. I had phones right in my ears. Okay, I'm good. I'm bad.

We're all good now. It's been a bad day. Okay, so China, about the 100 AD era, they actually were very innovative in sciences. Because remember, I mean, you're like, I thought we're talking about alchemy.

Why are we talking about science? But basically alchemy was a precursor, right? So as we all know, most people know China really came up with some very innovative things. Like gunpowder, tanks, all sorts of incendiary devices.

But just because of how China was and can kind of still be what happened in China, state and China. Very ethnically. So that didn't really get out either. So then we get to about 1350 AD and glass blowing among the Romans became very, very popular.
