ALDS Game 1 Recap (Ep. 113)

The Orioles postseason got off to a rocky start with a 3-2 loss to the Rangers in game one of the ALDS. Kyle Bradish and the pitching staff turned in a solid day, but the offense was largely silent outside of Anthony Santander. It’s tough to complain about the way in which the O’s hurlers held the potent Texas offense to only three runs. Most times out that is going to get the job done. They just didn’t get enough support from the Orioles lineup.Santander scored both of the team’s runs and had two of their five hits. It’s tough to win a baseball game all by yourself, and that was demonstrated here. There wasn’t enough table setting in front of him, while the back half of the lineup was completely impotent.A pair of double plays also killed rally opportunities. Austin Hays grounded into a double play in the fifth, and then Santander did the same in the eighth. The final nail came in the ninth inning, when Gunnar Henderson was thrown out at second trying to steal after opening the frame with a single. On this special mini episode Tyler reviews all of the game one question and previews some keys to game two. This is something we will do after every game in the Orioles postseason run.
