“Alec” – Chapter 2

from CornerCatch · host Charity Carver

In today's chapter, Alec Wilson finds that maybe it's not such a bad thing taking on a wife and baby, that loneliness really is overrated, though deep down he still seems to question whether it's what he wants. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ What happens to the family left behind to pick up the pieces of a tragic suicide? That is the question that haunted me the day I heard of a kid from my own community who'd used a shotgun to kill himself in his apartment, and thus this story was born. It gets heavy, but as in all of my writing, there is a silver lining and a happy ending no matter how unorthodox. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This chapter is also available as a blog post: http://corner-catch.com/2019/10/30/d-to-e-chapter-1-of-10/
