Aleida Guevara at UCL: Cuban Medical Internationalism

Dr. Aleida Guevara, Cuban paediatricain, and daughter of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, delivers this lecture - Cuba sends medical brigades in response to disasters, and has established health centres in low-income and remote areas and trains medical practitioners from across the developing world. Dr Guevara, who has participated in international missions in Angola, Ecuador and Nicaragua, will explain the internationalist philosophy that underlies this work, as well as its challenges and achievements.
