Alex Sinclair

Color can define the mood, energy, and emotion of a comic every bit as much as the pencils and inks, and few colorists have shaped modern superhero comics more than Alex Sinclair. On this episode, Alex joins the Bandits to discuss his remarkable career bringing some of comics' biggest stories to life through color, collaborating with legendary artists and writers (like Jim Lee and Scott Williams), and helping establish the visual identity of iconic characters across DC and beyond. He shares insights into the evolution of comic coloring from traditional methods to today's digital tools, the art of enhancing a page without overpowering it, and the creative decisions that can transform great artwork into unforgettable storytelling. Along the way, Alex reflects on his decades in the industry, memorable collaborations, and why color remains one of the most powerful—and often underappreciated—elements of #comics.
