Alex Turnball: Most tickets were sold before international acts announced

from Holiday Breakfast · host Newstalk ZB

Rhythm and Alps continues today with new acts stepping in.  Headliner DJ Dimension's pulled out after testing positive for Omicron – becoming New Zealand's first community case, after ending self-isolation before getting a last test result. Performers DJ Friction, Lee Matthews and DJ Sin – have also had to cancel, as close contacts. Rhythm and Alps Founder Alex Turnbull told Tim Dower they had picked up international acts from festivals that had to cancel here. And he says most tickets for his festival were sold before those transferred overseas acts had even been announced. “New Zealand parties are on fire, we’ve always supported New Zealand music and bands, and with you know, 3, 4, 5 acts pull out, that doesn’t change our product.” LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
