Alexa Getchell - Author of My Hot Air Balloon Ride

When Alexa was 13 years old her dad passed away. As she explains, it is difficult to put into words the pain and heartbreak her family endured. Now, 16 years later, the pain is still there and so real. After her dad's death, she made a promise to herself to help others going through similar situations. And so she is, she wrote a children's book to help kids and families with the extraordinary pain that comes with losing a loved one or even a pet. Her goal is to give whomever needs it a place to cope with their loss, and with all the sadness they feel, maybe give them some peace and happiness as well.
