Alexis Diaz DFA: What Went Wrong?

concept four the los angeles dodgers made a move that caught many baseball fans by surprise the team designated former cincinnati reds closer alexis diaz for assignment diaz had only joined the dodgers earlier this season and his stint with the team ended after just nine appearances during those outings he recorded a 5.0 era and a 1.0 whip alexis diaz was already familiar to fans especially those in cincinnati he had been an all-star for the reds in 2023 and put together more than three solid seasons there in that time he made nearly 200 appearances and not 75 saves making him a reliable option out of the bullpen for his former club one memorable moment from diaz's short time in los angeles was when he faced the reds at great american ballpark he threw only eight pitches to four batters helping the dodgers secure a close 5-4 win in that game despite the win the cincinnati crowd greeted him with booze when he jogged in from the bullpen pretty understandable given his history with their team earlier this year diaz's journey took a turn when the reds traded him to the dodgers in may with pitcher mike villani heading back to cincinnati expectations were high that he would bring stability to the dodgers bullpen but he struggled to find a groove in los angeles which led to his designation for assignment now the big question is what's next for diaz other teams will have a chance to claim him on waivers or he could head to the minors if he clears waivers completely after a solid run with the reds and a brief but bumpy ride in los angeles baseball fans will be watching to see where he lands next and whether he can bounce back
