Hey guys welcome to the first episode of Marvel rant Alex or Alex's Marvel rant whatever you want to call it I'm gonna give you all for warning. You know, this will be raw unedited. Maybe even uncensored The only thing that I think I might do to is put a limiter of some kind on it if I clip it all or something Nothing to make you're gonna get the full dialogue now This also means if you hear any background noises my dog or anything. I'm gonna apologize beforehand But they'll show the idea.
It's just gonna be focused on me talking about Whatever Marvel for this first one though I think that I'm gonna push it down on a subject and it's current Marvel that a lot of old school fans are Kind of on the fence about I mean for the past few years a lot of weird things have happened to them They've gone to a lot of changes through the millennium. They weren't super popular I mean that's some good events here and there a house of them Avengers vs. X men I don't know. I mean just a few good ones here and there.
What is it my sci-complex? That's another good one, right? Anyways, it doesn't seem like lately they've had Too much luck with their event situation. I'm if you haven't figured it out by now.
I'm talking about the X-Men now as you may or may not know the X-Men are Like really big like part of my fandom with comics of it's really what got me into comics Especially the show the animated cartoon in the 90s. I know we've had pods on it for and we've interviewed Larry Husevin shout out and I mean that y'all should know if you've listened to past four guys on the comic podcast that I'm really in the X-Men Well Getting back to the events. I mean lately with the X-Men. We haven't really had anything I mean we had the whole secret worst thing going on where there wasn't really too much focus But we went back in time and revisited some what is it retold reefer scene versions of different past events was it years of futures past?
They had age of apocalypse They had X-Men 92 which was really good and I mean some others But I mean since then the only real X-Men thing that's gone down is we had this was a resurrection Which everyone had these huge hopes for with X-Men and you know They promised us new titles which something pretty good like a new cable solo is really good. Um, weapon X pretty cool right now Golden blue will get into and then Gen X. I'm kind of on the fence about I'm not the biggest fan with Gen X But I mean something might be out there. I know what kind of enjoys it mainly for Quinn choir, but It seems you know that they promised us this big thing and then we had in humans versus X-Men right before it I guess and that was kind of a let down we got to see a cyclops die, which was cool I know some of y'all out there like what but no that was cool And you know we got to see how crazy Emma was with her like making it seem like Scott was still alive when really he died going after Multiple Man from the mist You know crazy stuff, but we got resurrection.
We got these two new titles blue and gold They're all right. They're not like amazing. We have a blue team. That's like the young X-Men time displays It's kind of weird.
I mean I like the gene gray mini kind of and I dig beast But it's so odd to me to see beast with like mystical powers kind of like dr. Strange and stuff and I don't know how to feel about that I've mentioned it in the past because beast is like one of my favorite X-Men characters I mean I don't mention them I guess a lot of my list some of y'all talk to me personally and you would hear you know cable gene gray Havoc Polaris or magneto or someone juggernaut, but you know beast is really up there for me I've always been a big fan of them since the kid I had his action figure But he has mystical powers and that's weird and overall the storyline for blue I don't know it started out strong now. It seems it's kind of dragging on. It's like what we doing.
It's getting into Secret Empire though, which is weird Because it doesn't even feel like it's like really like touches on it and then it goes out of it whatever but overall we just picked up What is it Wolverine's kid in it too, which is weird and I just I mean I wanted to bring up that because we're gold to it Ties back into secret empire with the event right now going back into events. We have like a double event thing going on with Hulk I go to say weapons of mutant destruction. It's like a whole covering Robot out of manti. Um Monster kind of like Ultron, but if Hulk and Wolverine were Ultron.
That's a good way to put it. Um, and it's weird I mean that event though is pretty good. It's really good But it's weird that we have X-Men double dipping kind of we have them, you know half of them are dealing with Secret Empire with New York being blacked out or whatever in gold and just how they're handling it and they ended it up Roughly those like no goways makes fun of it where the event the event It's like you read through a whole issue you read through the whole issue like oh, it's gonna be part of it Whatever I'm gonna be super snow super cool and it's just like oh Then they flew back and they looked up in the sky and saw something flying over them and it just so happens to be the ship or something Whatever, but that's what it feels like this, but with weapons of new destruction It's a lot better storyline and it seems like they're doing something to X-Men now overall I was hoping that you know the X-Men wouldn't get too involved in events again with this resurrection thing But it seems like it's happening. I was hoping that they would keep their own events or something else You know kind of like Claremont back in the day, but does not seem to be the case now you know, I Don't know I just I hope so much for X-Men like that It'll get better and better and better and sometimes it starts to build up and then it feels like I'm let down You know the X-Men being different events is fine, but I will really want X-Men specific events I think that's what I'm finally getting at with this It would be cool to have just an all X-Men events again, and I mean weapons of new destruction is kind of sort of I guess a mutant thing.
I mean weapons of new They're killing all striker in it has the team of Wolverine old man Logan Wolverine That doesn't want to be called Wolverine saber tooth domino war path and lead death strike Which is kind of cool and they're teamed up with Omidis show and they're fighting against the weapon X program and striker teamed up Which seems like an old school X-Men fan boys dream especially from the Claremont age, but whatever I guess I mean, it's I'm getting into it I have a bunch of friends and people I hear that are into it kids friends kids that are into it everything else But I'm just hoping that doesn't end up being a big flop The thing is you go online and you see it on social media and stuff in the comments And people are like really again like if they come up with a new and new ideas or whatever I'm just like this seems like you know, it's being written for you know Like a what if almost it is like a what if almost like come to life. It's weird, but that seems to be more and more of the case Like I marvel anyway, it's like a what if stories and then at the end of it It's like oh, it never happened. It doesn't affect anything Sort of we'll see how long cap lasts anyways, I think that I'm gonna end this rant If you keep up with it if you like it, let me know if not I'll stop But this is rant number one.
