Alistair Ian Blyth was born in Sunderland, England, and attended the universities of Cambridge and Durham, where he studied English and Latin. He has lived in Romania since 1999. He has translated numerous works of fiction and non-fiction from the Romanian, including works by many of the leading novelists writing in Romania and Moldova today.
