What this episode covers

This week we’re starting a new series in the Gospel of Mark. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be surveying this book to better know Jesus, his message, land his works. This Wednesday, we’re focusing in on Mark chapter 1 and the gospel that Jesus proclaimed from the beginning of his ministry. We are conditioned to think of the gospel as “God loves you and sent Jesus to die for your sins”. But the gospel that Jesus proclaims doesn’t sound quite like that (vv.14-15). Instead, he’s talking about the kingdom of God. We’ll spend some time looking at what Jesus meant by this and why a change in rulers is actually a good thing.
