We immediately launch into the well-established Police vs Fire “sibling rivalry” that exists within the first responder family.  Throughout the show, Michelle humorously proves herself a worthy rival (and sister) as she misses no opportunity to tease her older “cop” brothers in describing both the professional and personal experiences that helped to make her the dedicated medic, fire fighter and mental health trainer that she is today. She also discusses her work and resources within the realm of mental health and resiliency for those in the fire service. Fayed is also the Statewide Family/Caregiver Support Coordinator for the Florida Firefighter Safety and Health Collaborative and cochair of their Mental Wellness team. She is a National Trainer for Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) USA and Content Developer of the Fire/EMS specialty module. At the request of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, she advocated for support and funding of mental health awareness education at Congressional Staff Briefings in Washington, D.C.
