It is a special day when Catholics pray for the souls of the faithful departed, especially those in Purgatory who are being purified before entering Heaven. It’s a time to remember our loved ones who have died, to offer Masses, prayers, and sacrifices for them, and to reflect on the hope of eternal life in Christ. The day reminds us of the communion of saints that the Church on earth, in Heaven, and in Purgatory are all united in God’s love.Prayers featured in this episode:Prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory by Saint Gertrude the Great.Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. May the fire of Your love heal and sanctify them, and may they soon rejoice in the vision of Your glory. Grant eternal rest to the faithful departed, O Lord. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
