All Souls: Our True Colors' - (Rev. Marlin Lavanhar)
from All Souls Unitarian Church · host All Souls Unitarian Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister. SERMON DESCRIPTION We recently asked some media and communications professionals whether All Souls is relevant in today’s world. Here’s what they told us: Now, perhaps more than ever, people are confused, disenfranchised, disillusioned and even angry about the way they feel they have been mandated, instructed, and forced into thinking about their world, people, God, and spirituality. The world is connected in a way, for the first time in history, that allows them to share in people’s cultures, beliefs, happiness, pain, ideas, and persecution like never before. They are questioning traditional creeds, what they mean, and the impact they have on humanity, our connection to one another, and our collective future together. All Souls’ Vision aligns with how more and more people see their world, their place in it, other cultures, their spiritual nature, and the impact that religious teaching and action should have on humanity.
