All voice assistants like Siri are female

The most popular digital assistants – Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant all have one thing in common – they are predominately female. This brings about the question, is this teaching a whole new generation to view women as ‘staff’ and ‘subservient’ through the common digital devices in our homes? To discuss Newstalk Breakfast spoke to Debbie Ging, Associate Professor of Digital Media and Gender in the School of Communications.
