Something big just happened in the domain of Real Time OS': Microsoft open- sourced Azure RTOS by transitioning it to the Eclipse Foundation. If you are not familiar with the name Azure RTOS, you certainly are with the name ThreadX considering it has been one of the major commercial real time Operating Systems on the market. What does that mean for ThreadX and all its features? What license is it open-sourced under? Who will be maintaining it? Who can contribute? What motivated Microsoft to do that?
