David Baker is the author of 11 books of poetry, including Scavenger Loop and Never-Ending Birds, which was awarded the Theodore Roethke Memorial Poetry Prize. His five books of prose include Show Me Your Environment: Essays on Poetry, Poets, and Poems and Radiant Lyre: Essays on Lyric Poetry. Among his awards are prizes and grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mellon Foundation, and the Society of Midland Authors. He holds the Thomas B. Fordham Chair of Creative Writing at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and is poetry editor of The Kenyon Review.
