In which our intrepid party, having recovered and gathered fresh resolve, bids a heartfelt farewell to their kind hosts at the Mission-house and embarks upon a perilous journey into deep, uncharted forests and towering snow-clad mountains, seeking a mysterious white people spoken of only in faint and ancient tales. Their expedition leads them to a wondrous high-altitude lake, where upon the water’s deceptive calm they encounter strange swans and a mortal peril in the form of a hidden underwater archway, thrusting them into a suspenseful and shadowy struggle against the unknown.
