Nie wurde so viel Geld für das Militär ausgegeben wie im vergangenen Jahr: Rund 2,04 Billionen Euro haben Länder 2022 weltweit in die Rüstung gesteckt. Das zeigt eine neue Studie des Friedensforschungsinstituts Sipri. Hauke Friederichs, sicherheitspolitischer Korrespondent von ZEIT ONLINE, hat sich die Zahlen des Sipri-Berichts genauer angeschaut. "Je näher ein Land an Russland liegt, desto mehr investiert es in Streitkräfte und Waffen", sagt Friederichs. Was die Zahlen noch verraten. Das Versprechen der Chancen- und Bildungsgleichheit wird in Deutschland immer noch nicht erfüllt. Um die Ungleichheiten bei der sozialen Herkunft auszugleichen, hat CDU-Generalsekretär Mario Czaja vorgeschlagen, dass jedes neugeborene Kind am 18. Geburtstag 10.000 Euro Startkapital vom Staat bekommt.
