Allies Under Fire | Calgary News

A reporter at a top defense conference dropped a bombshell question that left U.S. Pacific commander Admiral Samuel Paparo stunned: “When would you actually follow an order to attack Canada?” He called it “preposterous,” likening the scenario to asking about Martian invasion plans — but the reporter pressed back, forcing the admiral to double down. The awkward exchange, which had moderator intervention, highlights fragile trust in alliances — especially when juxtaposed with past U.S. rhetoric like Trump’s threats against Oman, a centuries-old ally and first Arab nation to grant U.S. military access. It’s a stark reminder: even among allies, clarity and respect matter more than ever. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
