Alone With None But Thee (Ep 18)

from PocketNeif Podcast · host Mike Neifert

I have a friend who loves the ancient prayers written by the saints of old. He's always introducing me and other pastors to them when he leads retreats. About three years ago, after attending a get-away at which he facilitated prayer times, I sought out prayers from centuries ago to put to music. One of the first I ran across was a prayer of Columba, a man from Ireland, who opened monasteries all over Ireland to train evangelists who would spread the good news all across Europe. The prayer I offer up musically today expresses this saint's confidence in God come what may in life. My prayer is that as you listen, you will grow in your faith. Alone With None But Thee Alone with none but Thee, my God, I journey on my way. What need I fear, when Thou art near O King of night and day? More safe am I within Thy hand than if a host round me did stand. Alone with none but Thee, my God, I journey on my way. 2017 Mike Neifert (Adapted from the prayer of Columba (521-597 A.D.)
