Alvin just watched them leave.Then, one sunny afternoon, a real grey wolf, lean and silent, slinked through the tall wheat near Alvin's sheep. Its yellow eyes glinted. Alvin's heart thumped! "[screaming] WOLF! WOLF!" he screamed, his voice trembling now. He pointed with a shaky finger. The sheep scattered. He looked towards the village, small dots in the distance. He yelled again, his throat sore. But no one came. The village roofs sat quietly under the sun. The farmers didn't even look up.
