Always Keeping Girls in School: sanitary towels and puberty education

An estimated five-hundred schools in South Africa's Gauteng province will receive sanitary towels and puberty education over the next five years. Through the Always Keeping Girls in School programme by consumer goods cooperation Procter & Gamble, about one-hundred-and-fifty-thousand girls in South Africa and Kenya have benefitted from this initiative in the past ten years. To further enable this programme, the Department of Social Development in Gauteng has announced its commitment to collaborating with the company.
