I have struggled with sex addiction for 5 years. This insatiable desire for sexual activity I believe is a by product of the sexually repressive aspect of my adolescent years, due to my very traditional Christian upbringing which involves zero sexual gratification in any way shape or form, until married. Sex is forbidden, something you do in the dark and pay for with guilt. Not something you share with someone you love! THAT is what I am slowly overcoming. Disassociating my sexuality from the rest of my personality has had some harsh side effects in my life. Mainly, compulsive sexual practices, and the inability to feel comfortable incorporating sex into my adult romantic relationships.
