AM800 CKLW: MIKE AND LISA AWARDS' 2023 Fill-In Announcer of the Year

AM800 CKLW's The Morning Drive with Mike Kakuk and Lisa Williams held their annual Mike and Lisa Awards for 2023 and Jon Liedtke won Fill-in Announcer of the Year.As such, I wrote a VERY SERIOUS acceptance speech. The audio of the award presentation (of which I was not aware of!) is below:Wow, wow, wow! I can’t believe this is happening! I’m so honoured and humbled to receive this award for the Fill-in Announcer of the year at the 2023 Mike & Lisa Awards! This is truly a dream come true – never before has such a dream been realized.I want to thank the Academy, of course, for recognizing my work and giving me this amazing opportunity, as well as the domestic and foreign press. I also want to thank Mike and Lisa, the best hosts in the business, for trusting me to fill in for them whenever they were sick, on vacation, or just needed a break! You guys are awesome and I learn so much from you! Especially how to dish about local news and gossip without crossing too many lines! Producer Ed manages the board AND SOUNDBOARD like no one else in the biz! I also want to thank my family, my friends, my agent, my manager, my stylist, my hairdresser, my makeup artist, my therapist, my dog, and everyone else who supported me along the way. You know who you are and I love you all! Except for you, Steve! You know what you did and why we won’t speak about it publicly. And last but not least, I want to thank you, the listeners. While you didn’t have a vote in this contest (which is pretty undemocratic tbh) I like to think that you did. So that solves that. Thank you for listening to me and giving me your feedback.
