Amanda Pye: RSD, CBT and RVs

from Women & ADHD · host Katy Weber

Episode 11 with Amanda Pye.“With RSD, you get the sense that people are rejecting you even when they’re not. And even when there’s not really a realistic reason for you to think that, it gets put into your head. I thought everybody else was rejecting me or didn’t like me and I wasn’t important to those people. And then when I learned what RSD was, I went: Oh, no, that’s not them. They haven’t done this. I’ve done it.”Amanda lives with her family in Ault, CO, and she is the owner of Saint Paulia bath and skin care products.Amanda is one of those moms whose son was diagnosed years ago as a child with ADHD but it took her much longer to put the pieces together to get herself diagnosed. In fact, Amanda’s mother was diagnosed with ADHD after she was being tested to a form of narcolepsy and fatigue — pretty much the opposite of the stereotypical hyperactive little boy — that Amanda finally started to think this was something she might have, as well.I love Amanda’s insights into Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). It's something I’ve spoken about with other guests, but she gets into it a bit more in terms of how misleading our internal monologue can be when it comes to relationships. And, I pepper her with questions about her line of soaps and dry shampoos and how she got into the business of skin care for the clamping and RV set.I will also add that after this interview, I went to Amanda’s website and ordered myself some soap and dry shampoo and her lotion sticks and I’m in love with them. I have very dry, very sensitive skin and the soap is one of the best I’ve ever tried. As someone who hates having cream on my hands and in between my fingers and hates how it makes my hands all clammy and slimy for the rest of the day, I’m in love with the body sticks. They look like basically giant lip balm tubes — and I can use them as moisturizer on my face and body and it’s the best thing ever! I haven’t seen anything else like this on the market, so I wanted to make sure to put in a plug for this awesome product!OK, I hope enjoy this episode!Website: Saint Paulia Soaps Instagram: @saintpauliallc - - - - -Finally ... you've found your people!
