Amazon Plane Skids Off Runway in Miami | Miami News

A Boeing 767 cargo plane skidded off Miami’s runway Sunday, plowed through a fence, smashed into vehicles, and burst into flames—killing at least five and injuring five more. Harsh weather and possibly a sudden wind shift may have contributed to the crash, while Miami’s lack of an Engineered Material Arresting System left no safety net. Over 60 fire units rushed to the scene as two runways were shut down, causing massive delays. The NTSB is now investigating, but this tragedy underscores a global aviation safety gap.
