Amazon’s all-seeing eye: surveillance capitalism must be brought to heel⁠

Enrique Dans's Medium article details a class-action lawsuit against Amazon for illegally collecting user geolocation data through its Amazon Ads SDK, embedded in numerous apps. This surveillance capitalism practice, enabled by vaguely worded terms and conditions, allows Amazon to track users' movements and infer sensitive personal information without consent. Dans argues this is illegal and demands accountability, including compensation for affected users and deletion of illegally obtained data. He further suggests this is a widespread issue beyond the US and calls for global legal action.
