Ambassadors for Mustangs and Catalysts for Healing with Patti Gruber | Episode 13

from The Touch of a Mustang · host Shalyce Cluff

In this episode, I have the honor of speaking with Patti Gruber, the founder of Operation Wild Horse, and the proud owner of Padre, a Mustang dressage champion and Breyer horse model. When I first reached out to Operation Wild Horse, I had no idea I would be connecting with someone whose work has touched so many lives—especially through the incredible bond she shares with Mustangs and the transformative healing power these horses bring to others.Patti’s journey with Mustangs began in 2006 when she brought home her first Mustang. A year later, she adopted Padre, who went on to become a true trailblazer for the Mustang breed, proving that wild horses are capable of extraordinary feats, including excelling in dressage competitions. Padre’s accomplishments have since been immortalized as a Breyer model, and he’s been featured in two books and multiple magazines. However, what makes Patti’s story truly special is her deep commitment to using Mustangs to heal and empower others. In 2017, she founded Operation Wild Horse, a nonprofit dedicated to pairing Mustangs with veterans to provide therapeutic healing and a sense of purpose. The program not only honors her grandfathers, both of whom served in the military, but also highlights the profound impact horses can have on human well-being.Patti has spent nearly two decades working with Mustangs, and in this episode, she shares how they’ve transformed her life, her horsemanship, and her mission. Whether through competition, therapy, or simply the joy of sharing Mustangs with the world, Patti’s story exemplifies the healing power of these majestic animals. If you love Mustangs, veteran support, or the inspiring stories of how animals can heal, this episode is one you don’t want to miss. Patti’s dedication to Mustangs and the legacy of Padre will leave you believing in the incredible bond between horses and humans.Connect with Patti!Website:https://www.veteransrandr.org/operation-wild-horseMedia:https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=ZO65Yyf4Flchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=fgdnF2pMWYcFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/operationwildhorseInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/operationwildhorse/TikTok:https://www.tiktok.com/@operationwildhorse#MustangDressage #PadreTheMustang #OperationWildHorse #VeteranSupport #HealingThroughHorses #BreyerHorse #MustangAdvocacy #EquineTherapy #WildHorseRescue #MustangHealing
