America Is Overwhelmingly Good and Decent

If you spend any amount of time in playgrounds, you see that parents of all different races, ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds are constantly telling their children to get along with other children. There's a code of conduct that doesn't have to be written anywhere. Everybody understands it.If a child is getting too close to another child, pushes another child, or is in the space of another child, the parent pulls them away. I really feel, from seeing this and from observing other people in common spaces now, that the ethic of community is very, very strong in America. I don't see people hating on each other at all.What I do see on social media and in the regular media is a concerted attempt to create the impression that America is falling apart, that people hate each other, that people hate Jews, that people hate immigrants, that people hate Muslims, that people hate, they hate, they hate, they hate, hate. It's just not true.I really believe that what most people want is to live in peace, to not be bothered, to have their privacy, to be able to earn a living, to be safe, for the laws of the country to be functioning, to have the opportunity to make some money, to get a degree, to start a business, to be successful, and in general, for life to be good and fair. And any other story that you're getting, it's just fake news. And it's important to consider the narrative being presented, especially when sensationalism seems to drive the messaging.
