Tonight’s episode opened on a somber note as I reflected on the tragic killing of Charlie Kirk and offered prayers for his family. I also spoke about how his murder dominated headlines, while a devastating mass shooting at a Colorado high school the very same day received far less attention. Both tragedies are painful reminders of the epidemic of guns in America — there are simply too many, and we’re paying the price as a nation.From there, I shifted to the night’s main topic: the Wall Street Journal’s powerful article, “Nobody’s Buying Homes, Nobody’s Switching Jobs — America’s Mobility Is Stalling.” I highlighted its key points — how families are stuck in homes they can’t afford to leave, how workers are locked into jobs they don’t love, and how this lack of movement is reshaping the American Dream.For the immigrant community, these challenges cut even deeper. Homeownership, job mobility, and the promise of opportunity have always been central to our story — and now those pathways feel frozen. In this solo segment, I unpacked not only the data but also the lived experiences of families like ours, navigating the realities of being “stuck” while still striving for growth, stability, and resilience.
