American Icon - Hinton Battle

Hinton Battle is an American actor, dancer, singer and dance instructor.  He has won three Tony Awards, all in the caegory of Featured Actor in a Musical.  He was the first to portray the Scarecrow in the stage version of The Wiz (a role asssumed by Michael Jackson in the 1978 film adaptation). On December 2013 Hinton released the cd Hinton Battle meets the Count Basie Orchestra produced by legendary jazz producer "88"; which is now available on iTunes and in Tower Records. Mr. Battle will be performing June 3, 2014 at 54 Below in New York City for the release of his 2nd jazz cd produced by the great jazz drummer Lee Pearson,"Hinton Battle Something New.
