Flag Day is this Sunday, June 14. As it does every year, American Legion Post 38 in Floresville, in conjunction with its Boy Scout Troop, will conduct a flag retirement ceremony Sunday morning, beginning at 9 a.m., to respectfully destroy torn and tattered U.S. and Texas flags. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Post has a year-round collection program for worn and tattered flags; these can be deposited in the collection box located near the front entrance of the American Legion Hall at 1412 Fourth St. in downtown Floresville.
