American Resources CFO on hitting commercial scale milestone at ReElement's critical minerals plant

American Resources Corp (NASDAQ:AREC) CFO Kirk Taylor spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about ReElement's successful commissioning of its first commercial-scale refining column at the Marion facility, a key milestone for its critical minerals refining platform. Taylor said the company moved from lab testing to pilot operations to commercial scale in under six months after starting work on the waste stream in March, with each stage performing as expected. "We've gone from lab scale to pilot scale to now commercial scale in less than six months," he said. Standardising equipment, including valves, pumps, columns and piping, across production lines is helping reduce execution risk as further refining capacity comes online, streamlining future expansion while maintaining consistent performance. Taylor highlighted ReElement's modular platform, which allows processing closer to the source material, cutting logistics costs and supply chain risk. The first commercial line is focused on germanium, with the same equipment and parameters also able to extract and purify gallium from mine tailings - a material Taylor noted is essential for robotics and humanoid robotic chips. Looking ahead, the germanium line is the first of four production lines due to be commissioned over the next six months, with capacity aligned to demand from domestic and allied nations.
