America's Idol Essence

“America’s Idol Essence” explores D. L. Moody’s warning that anything loved more than God becomes an idol. Drawing from Isaiah, Exodus, Corinthians, Judges, and Colossians, the episode contrasts God’s desire to dwell among His people with humanity’s repeated tendency to replace Him with false gods, worldly desires, and cultural idols. It challenges Americans to recognize modern forms of idolatry—wealth, comfort, pleasure, power, and self-rule—and calls for national and personal repentance before God.
