Amir Jenkins Battle Back from Labrum Tear | West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball News

Amir Jenkins, West Virginia’s gritty guard, is battling a torn labrum — the same injury he played through earlier this season and re-aggravated against TCU — but the coaching staff remains optimistic he’ll return this year thanks to new rule changes that eliminate the redshirt option. Despite the pain and frustration of missing game time, Jenkins’ passion for the team and the game drives him to push through. If he can’t suit up by the start of next season, Florida State transfer Martin Somerville is poised to step in as backup point guard — either way, the Mountaineers are counting on Jenkins’ return to add crucial depth to their backcourt.
