In the dead of night, as people sleep, that's when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three, dark things take power. We like to call it the supernatural hour. It is time.

It is time. I'm meeting Red Vines. And Twizzlers together. I forgive you for the Twizzlers.

This is a show of solidarity right here. Tim, did you have trouble with some of these? Red Vines Twizzlers at the same time, it's all good. It's like pizza.

There's just no such thing as a bad thing. Welcome to Supernatural Hour, everybody. I am your host, Castle. And apparently tonight we have Silent Tim, aka Apeaker.

Are we recording? We're recording. Oh, great. And tonight we have a new host.

We were introducing tonight for his debut. He's a new host that we're introducing tonight. Are you sure when I'm introducing him last week or yesterday? Technically, he's been on the show a couple of times and he's had kind of some very positive feedback.

Last week he said that I would be on the show today, but you didn't say anything about hosting. Yeah, you're a host. Congratulations. I'm pretty sure I told you.

Yeah, Mike actually sat in and co-hosted the interview with Jimmy Lindeldung with me and we actually had an episode, Be Like Mike, where Mike came in and asked some questions. We're going to have Mike be a new host on the show, so this will be it. It'll be myself, Tim, and Mike. And then periodically we'll have some of our other hosts pop in from the older episodes.

It'll come in and I know Peaches is going to come in quite a bit and consult on some of the cases that we talked about. And we may see some, Jan, we may see some lurch. It just depends on what we got and what we need. So anyway, welcome, Mike.

Thank you. I'm going to be talking to the device in front of you. The microphone. I'm talking to the microphone.

Oh, say Mike on it anywhere. It says C3. I think it says lurch on there. No, it says C3 on the microphone.

Yep, it's a Behringer C3. C3 P.O. Pull away the curtains, guys. Tell everybody what we use.

The most annoying droid from Star Wars. That's okay. I'm going to update my microphone soon here anyway. So right now I'm on a Behringer C3 in about a month.

You're not going to know what I'm using. Probably the same thing. So you're going to have old ones with a stand from like the 1920s. Like our logo?

Yes. Just like the logo. You guys have to get them to have the old cool microphones. That's a super natural hour.

Must buy. Five dollars for those. We also sell the advanced paranormal services stickers for $7. But if you buy them together, you get them for $10.

And you can contact Tim at Whisps.org to get those stickers. Those stickers. Those stickers. They look handsome on a car.

They go great in an Easter basket or your stocking stuffers. Great for the kids. The whole family. Everybody loves them.

I'll tell you what, I just put some on my car. They look fantastic. So let's talk business real quick while we're talking stickers. That's how we lead into business.

Stickers. What do you have hats? We do have hats too. The hats are $10.

You can also contact Tim and get your hats. Those are like, they're 15. They're 15? We're looking at our money person.

I don't know. She gives us a shrug. We will take whatever you'll pay us for $15. We're going to make it 30.

Why not? That's too much. Tonight we are talking Amityville. But we're not talking Amityville until we talk about the fear factory.

Tim. Okay. So coming up on March 30th, which is now when you're hearing this, it's going to be, we can have a wait. Tickets for that is $50.

And we've got a decent sized group going so far. Yeah. It should be fun. Fear Factory is one of those places.

This has been featured on Ghost Adventures. If you haven't seen that episode, go watch it. My favorite part about those episodes are the history that they give to the venue beforehand and some of the stuff that they do on the investigation is actually entertaining and worth watching. But fear factory has got a lot of history behind it.

It's an old cement factory. There's been several deaths that have occurred there. One being, there was a transient that I guess just decided he didn't like being alive anymore. So he put his head on the railroad tracks and let the train run them over.

We've had our good friend, Peaches. She has actually been to this location and has seen this man walking around without it had kind of creepy as she described it. There's also a spirit there. I believe his name was George who died in an accident there at the cement factory when it was still up and running.

He's still kicking around and having Castle's head when he goes there. Yeah, that was an interesting and unique sensation. You know, we've actually had a lot of really cool EVPs at that location as well. Not to mention we've had people see shadow figures.

We've heard footsteps and explain noises. Really cool location. If you haven't been, it's worth every penny to show up. Like Tim said, we've got a pretty good group.

But actually considering the size of the venue, it's actually a pretty small group. That's why it's a pretty good group. Yeah. You're going to have the place pretty much to yourself at this point.

Yeah. I'm going to say we've sold enough tickets to make it awesome because there's not going to be that big group. It's just going to be awesome because I'm going to be there. Mike will be making his first appearance of the Fear Factory.

Yes, they're going to divergentize me at the first Fear Factory. If you do that, please don't tell us about it. Like should I record it or I can film in 4K? Ooh.

I can film in Mike Vision. Mate, Mayor's Health and Kim Kardashian famous. 4K Mike Vision. We don't allow children on hongos and stuff.

No, we don't. Soda. Alright. So on top of Fear Factory, we have got another investigation planned for April.

Yes, April 26, we finally got this one in the books. We will be going to a place that we haven't done as a public event before. This will be our first time hosting an event there. I know some of our investigators have been there.

We've talked about it on one of our shows. We have the Life and the Rocks ladies there with us. We are going back to the buildings in Eureka, Utah, which is just about, I don't see a half hour outside of Santa Quinn. Like you take the same exit, like if you're going to family tree, but you just keep driving.

This was also recently featured on Ghost of Ventures. And we actually watched this over at your house, Mike, with Peaches. And one of the really cool things is during the episode, they were at a bank. And Zach actually started saying he could feel some really cool energy in this one doorway.

And I was kind of able to feel the energy and Peaches, I mean, obviously you can see it. And what she basically described as this entity being is like Lucy times 10. So basically there's like a Lucy type of demon there and a demonic entity or type 3 or whatever you want to call it. And there's also a JJ type spirit there as well.

But they are more powerful, I guess, than what you can find in family trees. So if you think family tree is not scary and you want to try something out that you think might be a little more scary, come to Eureka with us. They only hang out in that one building, the bank building. So I mean, if you don't want to go to that building, you don't have to.

What's cool with your Eureka investigation is each, for those who have investigated with us before, we kind of do rotations to get everybody into every section of the venue. And Eureka, each rotation is basically its own building. So there's no cross contamination from other groups. And it's basically an old mining town.

It's a multiple buildings and old mining town. Really cool venue. I've been there, had some cool experiences in the bank. There's an area they called the Topless Bar and before anybody gets too excited.

It's not a strip club. It's an open air bar. It's a bar that doesn't have a roof. Yes.

No naked ghosts running around. I was thinking it was like a Western or brothel strip club and I got there and I was like, oh, it's actually literally a tough one. He was very disappointed. This is before he met current, Mrs.

Castle. I was crushed. He was looking for some ghost sex. Hey, that lady found a pirate ghost.

That's true. Well, there's also- And their divorce now, too. Well, that was the pirate ghost. That was the one lady.

And then there was Amethyst Realm, the crazy lady in England that apparently got caught cheating on a ghost by her boyfriend. And then she ended up being with a ghost and wanted to have the ghost babies. And then I've heard since then I think she broke up with that ghost and was no longer trying to have ghost babies. How does that work?

Like she just pops out spirits. I don't know. Nobody knows she's pregnant because they don't take up all that space. I think they were trying to- Do you watch American Horror Story?

Maybe it works on a murder house. If anyone's watched that show, there is in the first season a ghost does get the mom pregnant and then they give birth to the son of a- I'm just trying to understand the science here. I'm going to call that fiction. Science fiction.

All right. Science. So, Eureka is in April. April 26th.

That is a Friday as of right now. We do not have a price set, but as soon as we do get the price set, we will be throwing that up on our Facebook page and our website on mn.L.L.com. So, keep your eye out for that. That should be going up here hopefully in the next week or two and it should be good times to be had for all.

We have some listener questions and I apologize. I did not get to these sooner because I forgot these were my email. I got the email. I read the email and tonight as I was prepping for the show.

I went, oh my gosh. I haven't answered these questions. If you want questions answered in a timely manner, email to him at list.org. Just kidding.

Castle gets them too. We just barely got these like what two days ago. Yes. So, this is from listener Jill Reese.

So, first off, she said Castle is super awesome. Let me see that. I'm just going to say that. She said she had some questions after our family pre-question episode one.

We had people come ask questions. She had some questions that she wanted to add. So, question one, we heard how you got to investigating. How did you learn to handle dark entities you encountered?

Or what did you do or who or what did you trust when figuring out the best way? She just curious. She says she's not looking for trouble. She just is curious.

I'm going to start out with this one. I think where we kind of, part of it was, I mean for me anyways, having you guys around, having you and Lurch and Mark, you guys all being priesthood holders, it was one of the ways that we first started doing it with handling things with priesthood blessings. Now, there was a drink case that we worked on with Sappa and Rust Cook, I believe was there. We also worked a little bit with Serenity Moore.

They kind of taught us a different way of handling cleansing homes. They taught us like a holistic type of way that's non-denominational words. I speak them. Non-denitional?

Yeah, sure. Basically like if you don't really follow one particular religion or it's not really a religious type thing like a priesthood blessing is, it's just a way, it's just something like, there's certain rules that demonic entities have to follow and we're basically just forcing them to do what we want them to do by either placing salts or basil or saging a home. Having worked with us, several mediums, it's kind of, every single one is confirmed that salt basically burns spirits. I don't know why that is, but we'll set up like a salt perimeter.

I think it's like the whole good and evil type thing where light and darkness, light can't exist where darkness can't exist where light is. Salt's like a pure substance apparently. Yeah, it's a pure fire. It's been used to cleanse things.

Anyway, so salt and basil tend to burn spirits. Basil's particularly effective against dark entities. And also helps with nightmares. And same with metal bells.

Metal bells are actually kind of like dark spirit repellent. It's like a dog whistle. I mean, that's actually a really good description. They hear it on a different frequency than we do, so.

A very painful frequency for a better. That's why Santa has all those bells on his sleigh. It just drives away all the negativity and its happiness when Santa comes. I'm so glad you're here.

You see that now? Give us 20 minutes. Get to the top of the trail, yeah Mike's gone. We had to fire Mike.

He ate all the twizzlers. I brought all the twizzlers. He did bring all the twizzlers. But basically, so a lot of how we got into it is I know that I spent a lot of time studying a lot of haunting case studies.

And so that's kind of how we learned about a lot of it. But then along the way we've learned bits and pieces. We'll run into a case where we just aren't being effective. And so we'll start seeking alternative sources like the case we did with Sappa.

And then we've kind of learned and are repotores grown. In fact, what Sappa's taught us, we rarely use that method the exact way they taught us. We've modified it and changed some things with some things we found. We actually worked a little bit better.

And there's just a lot of different methods that we've used at this point. We just find what works for each situation. Because each situation is actually a little bit different. We've also reached out quite a bit to our friend, Jimmy Lynn Darling.

With her experience, I mean, she's got over like 30 years of experience in this field. So we reached out to her quite a bit. And we actually had someone contact us from Thailand recently. And we were a little stumped on that one because we're not exactly sure how to deal with demonic entities that are of that nature.

So we actually reached out to Jimmy and she was able to research different practices that people in that country do to help ward off evil spirits. And we were actually able to pass that information on to them. It was weird. We helped it's effective.

I'll leave it at that. Involve an egg. Honestly, I think if it wasn't going to be effective, Jimmy wouldn't have recommended it. Right.

It seems unusual for us. But you know, the funny thing is when we sent that to the client, they were all over it. They're like, yeah, I'll do that. It makes sense to them.

Well, it's funny because I say that. But I mean, the first time when we were told to put salt, burn sage and sprinkle basil about. I know all of us are kind of looking at each other like, I'm going to go on. It's kind of naughty.

And then click click your heel three times and spin around. But when it works, it works. And so I don't know the hells are the lies. But if it works, we'll do it.

So let's move on to question two. I've never used a pendulum before. I've never used a pendulum before. I've never used a Ouija board.

I've only seen it on TV and heard enough about it. No enough about it. Just stay away from it. With dowsing rods, if you're using them correctly, they have a tube that you're holding onto.

We use the rods that I have are copper tubing and then it has a brass rod that is shaped kind of like an L that the long portion sticks out away from me. You can Google it and look and see what dowsing rods look like. But when I'm holding the rods, I'm only holding the handles. I'm not touching the brass rods at all.

And so although I am holding something that's anchoring them, I am not actually letting the spirits control me. They're not using my body to make the rods move. They're making the rods move. I also think that they are able because of the metals that are used that they can conduct and kind of pull energy through it, which kind of gives them the ability to make it.

Yeah, it does. Well, I mean, you saw first-hand when I had my first channeling experience as my gifts keep growing and Mike was able to witness that with me. And once it was over, I was able to use my energy to make the dowsing rods move. And so I can tell you right now, I wasn't doing anything.

I wasn't using his energy. I wasn't manipulating his body any way. It was just me using my energy moving the rods back and forth. And that's exactly how spirits do it.

They're not actually touching the person or manipulating the person holding the rods. Now, when it comes to a weedy board, it's a little bit different because you're holding the plan sheet. You've got your fingers on the plan sheet and you're holding the rod back and forth. Now, when it comes to a weedy board, it's a little bit different because you're holding the plan sheet.

You've got your fingers on the plan sheet and you're inviting spirits to manipulate your body. That's why I have a problem with the weedy board. The way I look at it is weedy board dowsing rods, pendulum, they are all just tools used to communicate with spirits. The problem where it comes in with those items, not so much with the dowsing rods, but more with the pendulum and the weedy board, is the person and the intent behind using those items.

Like I said, with the pendulum, I'm asking them to move the pendulum itself. I'm not asking them to move or manipulate my body or my energy, but castles witness first-hand. While using a pendulum, I did have a negative reaction to a spirit that started affecting me. So I kind of shy away a little bit from the pendulums.

I wasn't using my normal pendulum. I have a metal one that has a secret compartment in it that has cellonite and some other protective stones in it. Well, that's my secret anymore. Yes.

Well, you're right. It's nice to hear anymore. Upwards of tens of people know now. Yes.

All 15 of you. But I keep protective stones in my pendulum that keeps negative spirits from being able to manipulate it or myself. I usually have cellonine on me. I don't have myself properly protected and grounded at the time.

But using my special pendulum that I was given to a friend of mine, I'm able to put some of those protective stones in there to keep negative spirits from manipulating me or the pendulum. But I agree with what you're saying. They're all the same. They're all tools that can be used.

And again, in my opinion, it's the intent and the person using it. With an Ouija board, you don't know who or what you're talking to unless you're a little more experienced in kind of sense and you can fill that energy. I think one of the best descriptions that I've heard recently is it's kind of like playing Russian roulette. You don't know if you're going to get us empty, nothing happening or if you're going to get that ball to the brain.

You just don't know. In reality, with using those, I'm going to grieve both of you guys. I think that Dowsing Rod has the least amount of potential for harm. I think the pendulum can kind of go either way, just depending on what the stem said, the person in the intent.

Ouija boards are kind of the same as far as a person's intent, but I think they're significantly more dangerous because again, you're inviting the spirit to manipulate your body, to manipulate the plunge yet. So, kind of from a danger level, you're looking at like Dowsing Rod's being green, Pendulum being yellow, and Ouija board being red. That oversimplifies it and makes it kind of clear. And it's okay to be skeptical on things too.

I was skeptical about Dowsing Rod's the first time I ever tried them. Michael's skeptical on everything. I was skeptical on everything. But by the end of the night, the first night I tried them, I didn't want to give them back because I would borrow them.

And if you ever come to one of our hunts, ask me, I'll show you how they work. We actually sell Dowsing Rod's. We do sell them. We do go back into business.

Twenty dollars, if you want to sell Dowsing Rod's. Glowing the dark tips. Glowing the dark tips. They're very hands full.

And those are the investigations that anybody's interested in. But I'll show you how to use it and how to not, how to use it so that you know that you're holding still and how it effectively works and show you how it works. It evolves moves. Did it start on the week?

Was that all the questions? That was the questions. Okay, it's not the week. Speaking of my channeling that I recently experienced, after it was all said and done, it kind of hit me that there's three stones that I need to be talking about in the next couple of weeks.

The first one that we're going to be talking about today is Carnillion. And this is one of the three stones that I was actually told that I need to start carrying on myself on my personal at all times again. And one of the reasons why is because Carnillion is a stone that can cleanse other stones. It's not self cleansing like selenite, but it can cleanse other stones that it's around.

And something's going to go up this real quick. It's known as the singer stone. It's a warm and vibrant stone that boosts confidence and the power of true expression. It's made from the most widely available microcrystalline quartz.

It's bright and cheery version of Shalondi. Crystal names are weird. I can't read. Yes, yes they are.

See, it gets its brown and orange red specks, bands and stripes from iron impurities, which looks best when polished. So basically Carnillion is an orange stone and it's really cool looking. If you haven't seen it before, you can see the picture. That actually is kind of cool looking.

It kind of looks like if I had to describe it as a food, I'd say like an orange cream lifesaver. Oh, yeah, that sounds better than actually. Yeah, it's kind of orange and white and swirly. The picture you showed me looks kind of like a flame stuck inside of the stone.

Well, yeah, there's the middle one there. I'd say yeah. Yeah, they do. It's kind of cool.

Orange Creamsicle. In Egypt, polished Carnillion was a favorite contrast with Onyx and Lapis Lazuli. It was used in collards and necklaces designed for royalty. The ancient Romans were also known to use large Carnillion stones set in gold for men and women's rings.

Because of its hardness of seven, the Carnillion Crystal stone was also carved into camel rings that depicted personal emblems or figures of gods, a popular fashion trend in second century CE. So as we're calling on Carnillion for its incredible healing powers is nothing new. In the Middle Ages, healers believe that Carnillion Crystal healing properties and use it to help ease the tension and stress of Viking marauders. Sacking villages and other drawbacks to living in the dark ages featured in a variety of shades ranging from orange to brown.

Use this worry stone to bring out your childlike playfulness in spontaneity with its warm and sunny vibes. One of the things I bought my first piece of Carnillion, one of the things I looked for is when I first tried to open up my abilities, one of the things I was telling back, I was told that was holding me back a little bit is my kind of my banger. I was quick to be very defensive if someone came at me or said something to me. Instead of just taking it as constructive criticism, I would hold on to that and just be like, oh, what do they know?

Tim, kill you! Right, so I actually did a Google search for stones to help release anger and Carnillion was the first one that popped up. And I've actually used, I've used it recently with some people at work when they're feeling a little stressed out or anger, when they got some tension and as soon as I handed it to them they instantly felt better. You know, I'd kind of chuckle to myself because when you're talking about, they used it to have calm people down after the Viking attacks.

I was thinking of that meme you see where someone's talking about being a wounded soldier and they're like, I guess I'm lapping oil, let's put that on your feet. I don't know if you guys have seen that meme. I don't think so. But you caught my attention with the sacking villages, it kind of takes me back to the old days.

Yeah, it was, basically it's a use to help build that courage that you need to help kind of move forward in life and find that, you know, vigor that you do the things that you want to do in life. It also helps relieve stress, helps release anger, helps release all that negative tension. And this is, I know the listeners can't see this, but I do plan on going through and making a list of all the stones that I have talked about so far. And I'll put pictures of my stones up on our Facebook page and possibly our website as well.

But just so Mike and Cassicle can see, this is what my Carnillion looks like. And hopefully I'll have this up on the Facebook page here. So for the next couple of days. For our listeners, it's around and flat and about the size of 50 cent piece, but about twice as thick and it's kind of ambery and creamsuck looking.

But yeah, that's our stone this week is Carnillion. So Mike, very nice. Thanks for giving me the stone tip. You can have a back.

I'm sorry. Speaking of which, we have a gem fair to go this weekend. We do Saturday. If you haven't ever been to a gem fair, it's a Saturday over at the Southtown Expo Center.

If you're on the solid period, it's actually it's a 3D event. It's actually going Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so it should be the 22nd, 23rd and 24th. I guarantee if you're interested in stones, that's going to be cool. The cool kids go on Saturday, 23rd, like me.

If I don't have to work, yes, I will be like. Speaking of cool kids, Mike, let's talk recent investigations. What do you got? So it's been kind of quiet in the recent months, but we did have a residential investigation just the other day, two days ago.

And it was in Ogden. And what was going on was it was a family that's where the father and all of the kids, all of the boys, all had the ability. They could all see spirits. They are all sensitive where mom is not.

And so all of their lives, you know, just they've seen things. Most of the time it doesn't really weird them out. Dad has always been kind of a, you know what, they're there, but if you don't talk to them, they won't bother you, and you just kind of coexist together. And everything was fine.

Where they started becoming problems about four months ago, things changed. They got through where there was a kind of a darker mood in the house. She said that there was cold spots that she would get, that she would see. There was one night where something had actually picked up her ankle, grabbed her by the ankle, picked up her foot and dropped it.

And, you know, just like me, spirits touching is not okay. I don't condone that, right? So they also, she also said that she'd welcome up one night and seen a dark entity floating, hovering over top of her husband on the other side of the bed. And that really weirded out rightly so.

So they had us come up, we investigated, we set up two groups. We had one group, some of our investigators go down the basement with one of the boys. And then Deann and I went up in the, went to the master bedroom where she'd seen this dark entity and we went in there with the mother. And right as you walked in the room, just over on the side over there, Deann picked up right away.

She was just right over there and you know, you could feel it and sense that it was there as well. I'm not really sensitive but I could still tell where it was at. And so we started talking to it, it wasn't overly cooperative. It did come over closer to us as we went and talked about it.

But, yeah, lots of people out there. So you guys figured out where they were talking to, what do you guys learn about it? We figured out that it was a Type 2, that there were no Type 3s in the home, but there was a Type 2. There was also several other spirits.

There was a little girl that they've seen a lot. There's an older woman that is the one that talks the most to the kids, to the family, to the boys and to the father. But this negative one somehow had been picked up and had come home and they didn't want him there anymore. So we basiled and salted up stairs in the house and he quickly left once we started firing up the stage.

And he went outside. The other spirits that were there were very, very talking about this week, especially the two. We also found out that her mother was there. Her mother had died when she was young.

She was grateful that her mom was there, just kind of watching over. But, yeah, that's kind of how it goes. That's what we do. We show up.

We find out what's there. It's negative. They don't want to home. We make a leave.

You know what we're talking about. That's kind of what makes us fun is helping people out who are doing this stuff like that. Alright, let's talk weird paranormal news. Now, it is St.

Patrick's Day. As we record, when you guys hear this, it's not going to be St. Patrick's Day anymore. But it's St.

Patrick's Day right now. So I found this little story, which I thought was kind of interesting. The head in Ireland, the head of an 800-year-old mummy known as the Crusader, has been lopped off in Stolen, wrote, it's Crib La St. Micah's Church in Dublin.

In addition to be heading the mummy known as the Crusader, and flipping over on its coffin, the vandals also damaged the 400-year-old remains of a mummy known as the Nun. I would appeal to those responsible to examine their consciences, and return the head of the Crusader to its rightful place, the Archbishop of Dublin said in the statement, Irish police are investigating the incident. St. Micah's Church dates back to 1095, which is a really long time ago.

But the present church building was completed in 1685, according to the church's website. You know, it's kind of interesting that it was formed in 1095 and they have a website. The Crib's lo state Micah's hold many mummies, though the history's not fully known. According to the Church, the bodies of men and women were entombed and slowly mummified, or timed thanks to the band's most naturally dry atmosphere, which is partially due to limestone bricks sucking the moisture out of the air.

The dorannus has also caused some of the mummies' caskets to disintegrate, exposing the corpses inside the public view. The Crusader and the Nun are among the Crib's most visible and most visited mummies. According to the Atlas Obscura, Church officials once encouraged visitors to make the Shake, the Crusaders' Outstretched Hand, which is a practice ended in 2017. Shaking hands ended in 2017?

Yeah, just a couple years ago. Maybe we shouldn't have you shake the hands of the 1,000 year old mummy, 800 year old mummy. Historians believe the Crusader participated in the 4th Crusade, which banned from 1202 to 1204. Standing more than 6.5 feet tall, the mummy had to have its legs broken and folded back so it would just fit in the coffin.

So if anybody out there has seen an 800 year old mummy had to kick around, say Micah's Church in Ireland would really like that back. So you're saying? It's probably walking with a limp because they had to break its legs. I won't be able to cross shaking hands with a mummy off my bucket list anymore.

You are too late, my friend. Oh, man. 2017, the mummy shaking, he said that was not a good idea. It was just this particular mummy.

Like, did they have a hand sanitizer available like afterwards? Like, why would you want to touch an 800 year old dead person? Why would you want to steal an 800 year old dead person's head? There could be money in it.

In the head? I don't know. There's money hidden inside its head. No.

Yeah, you know what I mean, smart ass. There's copper coins in there, my volals. What kind of the tongue? What kind of the tongue?

Maybe you swallowed jewels. I see the movies. It's one eyed, really. Alright, now this next story of Goonies, it's not dirty.

Come on. The next story is really not normal, but I thought it was kind of humorous and you'll see why here in just a moment. We're not even going to read the whole story because there's like part of it. Nobody reads the fine print, but maybe they should.

Georgia High School teacher, Don Lyn Andrews won a $10,000 reward after she closely read the terms and conditions that came with a travel insurance policy she purchased for England. Square mouth, a Florida insurance company had inserted language promising to her the first person who emailed the company. When her customers don't actually read contracts or documentation when they're buying something, but we know they're important to doing so. We created the top secret page to read campaign and highlight the importance of reading policy documentation from start to finish.

Not every company is so generous. To demonstrate the importance of reading, the fine print many companies don't give the take. The Medchivius Closas tend to pop up from time to time usually in Chiki, England. In 2017, 22 people who signed up for free public Wi-Fi and the vertintly agreed to a thousand hours of community service, including clean toilets, relieving sewer blockages.

The company in Manchester based purple said it inserted the clause in its agreement to illustrate the lack of consumer awareness for what they're signing up for when they get free Wi-Fi. A few years earlier, several Londoners agreed, presumably inadvertently, to give away their oldest child in exchange for Wi-Fi access. Before they could get on the internet, users had to check a box to sign a firstborn child to us for the duration of eternity. According to the Guardian, six people signed up, but the company providing Wi-Fi said likely the clause won't stand up in court.

On April Fool's Day, in 2010, the British retailer Game Station inserted the clause into its license agreement with a checkbox already ticked. If users didn't uncheck the box, they agreed to grab Game Station, a non-transferable option to claim for now and never more of their immortal souls. The moral of the story, folks, is read those user agreements because you could be giving away your soul. Because those pesky clauses jump up.

Clearly, you all don't watch South Park. Jimmy Darling said you can't give away your soul, but that is not true. Read the fine print. The devil's in the details.

You clearly don't watch South Park. I don't watch South Park. They actually did an episode on this where when the iPad first came out, I believe it was, and they made a big deal about people not reading the fine print. This also happened to be about the same time as that Con-Offal movie, The Human Centipede, came out.

And basically by buying the iPad, you agreed to be part of this Human Centipede project. Did you watch that? The movie of the South Park episode. I'll just say yes to both of those.

The human centipede is on my bucket list of films never, ever, ever watched? Please don't. I would highly recommend it not watching it. Me and Kennedy are probably the only people that ever watched that show.

I had to force myself to finish watching it because I can't finish a movie. What's the other thing? I have to finish it. You know what?

I'm going to funnel that and I'll learn all that. Yeah. I might change my rule. You can have a whole other episode all about movies not to watch.

I mean, they did not only did the Human Centipede spawn one sequel, but two. It has two sequels. There's two sequels. There's two sequels where the doctor is like, oh, I can make a bigger, better human centipede.

And then there's Human Centipede three. I haven't seen the second or third one. I'm ashamed of it that I even saw the first one. But the third one is like some warden in a prison that's like, I should make the biggest, bestest one and take all my inmates and make a human centipede out of it.

I can touch you in the dirty spots. No, okay then. Wow. It's not real.

His head is quite dirty. All right. Rob's in there. I know.

Some bearded guy licked it once. Yeah, it was weird. Tastes like salt. So, 112 Ocean Avenue.

High hopes? High hopes. We have teased you guys all last episode and part of this episode. We're going to talk to Amityville.

I'm going to have to go back and make a correction to something I said in the last episode. I said the name of the person was Travis DeFeo. That was incorrect. His name is actually Ronnie DeFeo Jr.

Or a commoner called Butch. Or Ronald Jr. or Ronnie or Butch. Yep.

So, I was wrong on the name. But yeah, here we go. Now, we're going to do some of the different episodes. We try and keep the show to an hour.

We're almost 40 minutes in and we've talked about everything but Amityville. I've been yelled at numerous times by many of you that we just get into good stuff and then we wrap it up. So, I have discussed this with Mike and I think I'm going to talk to Tim about this but I'm not sure. He's looking at me like I might not have.

Yeah, that's- Do you think I'm going to complain if the show goes long? We're going to record it until we've covered all this material. So, this could be a long episode. We could be pushing two, two and a half hours.

You'll buckle up kids. Check it out, Sons. This is going to be our bonus episode. But you're coming on.

So, 112 Ocean Avenue. That was the address and no longer is. They had to change the address because idiots kept bothering people who subsequently- But yeah, the idiots still find the house with no problems. Well, it's not like they tore the house down and rebuilt it.

It still looks the same as it did 40 years ago. And it's in a small town called Amityville. It's not a big town. So, let's talk a little bit about the history before we get to the two major events that happen at this place.

So, it's- Talking hard. We're nothing but professionals here at the Supernatural Hour. Right. I'm not getting paid for this.

Does that make me amateur, right? Yeah, they're logging next. We can hear castles fired. We've replaced them with a homeless guy.

So, town historians said that the Montauk Indians lived in that area before White Settlers basically came into the New York area. And history has the Montauk Indians believe that the Ocean Avenue area where the Amityville house was a spot of power that was invested by demons. The Montauk also believed that those who were possessed were left to die in the land and they were buried face down. Also kind of with the house's history.

It's alleged that John Ketchum from the Salem Witch Trials left Massachusetts and moved to the Amityville area. There's actually Ketchum Street right near Ocean Avenue. That definitely sounds like the name of a witch. I'm gonna catch him.

I'm gonna catch him. Oh dear. Is it bad to make fun of dead people? Yes.

I'm gonna catch him. Someone's gonna laugh at that just like they laughed at my bad joke. Mike's wife actually texted me and said I laughed. I'm gonna hear the groan.

She was the one. She was the one who actually did that too. Actually two people he does to me and said I laughed at my bad joke. So thank you for laughing at my bad jokes.

You can probably make fun of him. I don't think John Ketchum listens to the show. It was alleged that John may or may not have practiced witchcraft. We don't know.

But if he did he probably would have known I'm gonna catch him. Oh Ketchum. The original house built on the site was built in 1872. It was actually moved a few blocks away because another family came in and built a bigger house around, I believe it was, this is 1924, when the actual Amityville house that you guys all see in London.

The Dutch colonial was built in 1924. Rumors have it that prior to the defails moving to the house there were some issues at the house. Prior to their moving in. That's also unconfirmed.

But really our story starts in 1965 when the defails moved into the Amityville house. Tim do you want to talk about the defails? Nope. Thanks for listening.

Check it all out at the end. So how far into the defails do you want me to get? Run with it. So the defails actually, before they lived in the house they lived in a small apartment and it was just.

You're a Brooklyn I believe. Yeah. So I believe it was just a big Ron or Ronnie defails senior, his wife and I don't remember her name. And I don't think they were actually that financially well off at that point.

They weren't. No. And I think it was just the, and Ronnie defail Jr. I think it was just three of them.

I know that when the big Ron and his wife got married, his in-laws were opposed to it. I believe she was Catholic Irish or something like that. It was, they're some religious, they're religious background and he didn't believe in the same religion. So they were opposed to the marriage.

But they got married and then after, and actually it was after Ronnie Jr was born is when they kind of took a liking to big Ron. Eventually they kind of warmed up to him a little bit because now they have the first grandkid. And his name was Mike. I can't remember his last name, but he was the father-in-law owned a Buick dealership and he had quite a bit of money.

So he ended up doing, because he wanted to make sure his daughter and her kids were taken care of, ended up buying this house on 112 Ocean Avenue. And they moved the DeFago family in there and they also gave big Ron a job at the Buick dealership. Quite a lucrative job too. If you want to make money, you sell Buicks.

Yeah, they made quite a bit of money. They were well off. And part of the problem though is, despite all of this that was going on, having a nice house, having a good family, having this income, it was said that big Ron was very abusive towards his life and his children. And this was before they even moved into the Ocean Avenue house.

When they didn't move in, he didn't hang up a sign outside called High Hopes because that was their new beginning. Their family went off. They had high hopes for the future. We kind of all know how that ended.

Yeah. But to get a little bit more into it, I know that it was said that he was extremely abusive. At one point to where when Blutch or Ronnie Jr apparently had actually dropped a napkin on the floor during dinner, at one point, I guess he bent over to pick it up. And big Ron got all mad at him and just started beating him right there from the family saying, you're supposed to excuse yourself.

You're going to leave the table. And then after he got done beating him, he just sat back down and went back to dinner like nothing happened. Well, there's another incident too with that where basically, Mod to fail. I can't remember her name is.

I don't say Laurie, but that could be wrong. Yeah, I'm just going to call her Mod to fail. She was down in the basement actually gathering up some laundry. And Ron Sr was upstairs eating dinner and the kids were bickering.

You know, Louise. The kids were bickering like kids were wanting to do when you've got four or five kids. They were bickering and Ron Sr got really mad and was kind of starting to shout at the kids. Well, as Mom came up and started at the basket of laundry, Ron got up, punched Mom.

She fell down the stairs. He closed the door, sat down, said, now I can eat and piece and quiet. Because I think it shocked the kids so bad that he punched Mom and she went flying down the stairs. They just kind of had that weird uncomfortable silence and he sat down and proceeded to finish his dinner.

Now, apparently according to neighbors, when whenever he had these outbursts, when he would beat his family or abuse him verbally or physically or whatever, he had this little shrine to St. Joseph that was out in the yard. And he would go outside and he would pray to the shrine asking for forgiveness. And apparently he was really loud about it and to disturb the neighbors.

I got to the point where apparently the St. Joseph had told him to go to Canada and bring this priest back to bless the house, I believe. And this priest, from what I understand, had started to convince Big Ron or Ron Sr that he actually had some psychic abilities and that he could actually talk to God. Ron could or the priest could?

The Ron could. And from what I understood is the more money that he gave to the priest, the more abilities that he had. Oh. I see.

So, yeah, it was the priest by a Buick. I don't know. For free, so Ron, that was my abilities. What was interesting that I noticed when I was doing my research is that Ron started to think that his abuse ofness was because he had a devil influencing him.

And so aside from the shrine in the yard, he started to fill the whole home with our religious icons, statues, crucifixes, things of that nature, to kind of keep in his mind the devil at bay. You know, he actually told some neighbors that he had Devwan is back. And to this day, the neighbors were talking about Ron Jr's behavior because he was having some issues, which we'll get into in a minute. Or whether it was actually a literal devil that Ron Sr thought was pestering him, if that makes sense.

So, I don't think it's got so bad at the house. Apparently, the kids wouldn't even invite their friends over anymore. I guess I got to the point where they said they were not a normal family. And they didn't want their friends to witten, swoat, went on in their house.

I know at one point, apparently, Butch and Don, the oldest daughter of the DeFamili, both turned to drugs and alcohol to come with their problems. And it got to the point where I think when the murders actually took place, I believe Butch was 23. And I think Don was like 18 or 19. Well, there's another incident with Butch, a.k.a.

running to fail. I like using that a.k.a. I don't know why. I just do a lot.

But I guess Ron Sr was actually arguing with that. I want to say it was Don. And Butch actually went and got a shotgun out of the closet, came out and pointed it at Ron Sr. Pulled the trigger and the gun actually misfired.

It didn't kill Ron. I think it's when Don had made, she'd met this guy, but she planned on running away to Florida with, just so she could get away from the family. And it's just no matter how hard these kids try to leave, there was just something that just kept pulling back and kept them from leaving the house. Well, interestingly, I watched some interviews with Ron Jr.

and he kept saying that he, every time he's in the house, he'd start to angry and vicious. And so he left the house numerous times because he said if he didn't get away from it, he was going to kill his family. And he left several times and said that every time that Ron Sr. would use his money and resources to kind of track him down and bring him back to the house basically.

Yeah, nothing? Not that far. So, he got to the point where, I guess they, big Ron Sr. who was working at the Bjork dealership, was also in charge of the books and the financing.

And apparently at one point, he had two sets of books that he took care of. One was the books that they had for public view and then one was the books because apparently... The real books? Yeah, the real books.

They were involved with the mafia. And when the shootings went down, one of the original thoughts was that it was a mob hit because they thought that the defails were stealing from the mob. But that was later found out to be not true. I know when it gets down to it, there's several different versions of what actually happened, according to witnesses and to Ron Jr.
