In Amos 4, God exposes the danger of religious activity without repentance. Israel was busy, generous, and sincere—but still enslaved by idols that exhausted them and ignored God’s warnings. Again and again, the Lord patiently called His people to return, until the warning became unavoidable: “Prepare to meet your God.”This sermon, preached during the season of Advent, presses the question we all must face: Are we ready to meet our King?
