As the former associate dean of Research at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and the co-founder of the Neglected Global Disease Initiative at the same university, Dr. Kishor Wasan has dedicated a large part of his life to finding solutions for diseases that often get overlooked. In particular, he's developing an oral, less toxic form of a drug called Amphotericin B, which is currently in clinical trials to treat Leishmaniasis, a neglected tropical disease that devastates many impoverished areas of the world.
