Ampocalypse | Matt McAndrew of Rain City Drive on Download and Building a Festival Civilisation

In this episode of Ampocalypse Damian FitzGerald is joined by Matt McAndrew of Rain City Drive for another special Download Festival edition of the show. With the outside world collapsing, Download has become one of the last remaining safe havens, leaving Matt to decide how to survive, who to trust, and what it takes to lead a festival civilisation through the end of the world.Would you stay behind the festival gates or risk everything beyond the fences? Together we discuss the first priorities for survival, the importance of festival infrastructure, whether seasoned festival veterans have the edge, and how quick thinking, resourcefulness and a sense of humour could be just as valuable as food and supplies when the Ampocalypse begins. As morale becomes just as important as survival, Matt also reveals the soundtrack he’d choose to keep hope alive, designs his ideal festival headquarters, and shares what kind of leader he’d become when Download transforms into humanity’s last refuge.🤘 If you enjoyed this episode, please like, share, and subscribe to Ampocalypse. And let me know in the comments: if an apocalypse broke out at Download Festival, what would be the very first thing you’d secure for your own survival — and what Ampocalypse scenario should we explore next?#Ampocalypse #RainCityDrive #DownloadFestival #Download2026 #FestivalApocalypse #RockPodcast #AlternativeRock #AlternativeMusic #FestivalLife #DoningtonParkVideographer: Cara FelsteadEditor: Damian FitzGeraldProducer: Damian FitzGeraldChapters00:00 Introduction and setting the scene at Download Festival02:04 Deciding to stay at the festival during the apocalypse02:47 Vital festival infrastructure for survival03:28 Who is most likely to survive a festival apocalypse?04:16 The resilience of festival veterans and mud sliders05:02 Leadership and potential dictatorship at the festival05:55 First priorities in a chaotic survival situation06:31 Choosing music to boost morale during crisis07:01 Designing a festival base of operations07:18 Humorous take on leadership symbols and thronesSocial linksFollow Rain City Drive:Websitehttps://raincitydrive.comInstagramhttps://www.instagram.com/raincitydrive/?hl=enFacebookhttps://www.facebook.com/raincitydrive/?locale=en_GBYouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/@raincitydriveSpotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/4rMxZovfLSDjEL9eI2pKo7Follow V13 Media:Websitehttps://v13.netInstagramhttps://www.instagram.com/v13media/Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/v13media YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/@v13mediaSpotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudioFollow Ampocalypse:Websitehttps://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficialFacebookhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1dSpotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKiThreadshttps://www.threads.net/@damolition82
