Amputated Heart by Kai-Anne Clews

from Original Christian Poetry · host Kai-Anne Clews

God knows when your heart is broken, You do not have to explain why - He knows when you are wounded,  And that slow & gentle healing is already fully supplied.  God knows when you are grieving,  He understands that pain of loss -  In it He is slowly revealing To us that heavy cost... With which He purchased every soul, Both you and the beloved  you've been called to let go - So they could journey safely home. The Lord shares the agony, you now bear alone.  Though your loved one has gone on into grace,  They've left the harder pilgrimage to you.  Take comfort; you will again see that sweet face,  Once victoriously your journey's through. The reunion will be a dawn of brilliance,  For the loved one who was lost, Will be then returned to you,  And justify this heavy cost. The loved one, lost, will be restored,  And all the pain of sacrifice, And death, will be no more.
