He is a member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) for which he serves as Chair of the Research Committee and the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), for which he has served on the Board of Directors. Kara Skrubis and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in January of 2020. Kara received 9 months of chemotherapy, a left above the knee amputation, and then 8 months of immunotherapy. Currently, Kara is 20 years old living in Buffalo, New York attending the University at Buffalo pursuing a child life certification. In her free time Kara enjoys dancing, art, fostering dogs, photography, and her work with the MIB Junior Advisory Board serving as the 2022 president!
