An American SLP in Ireland
from SLPs Overseas · host Erin White
In March 2026, I had a chat with Margaret, an American SLP living and working in Ireland. When you think of Ireland, you may picture four-leaf clovers, pots of gold at the end of a rainbow, Guinness and Riverdance. You might even feel a little bit Irish yourself, as there are an estimated 60 - 70 million people of Irish descent living outside of the Emerald Isle. But did you also know that Ireland is where Halloween originated? And that one of Ireland’s official languages, Irish Gaelic, is one of Europe’s oldest living languages? Also, fun fact: my name Erin actually means Ireland!Grab your passport, pack your bags and get ready to come on an audio adventure to learn what life is like as an American SLP in Ireland 🇮🇪.👍 Make sure you like, subscribe and follow on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Instagram so you can hear episodes as soon as they land (yes, that's an airplane pun).SLPs Overseas is an independently produced podcast. I record, edit and publish episodes while working full-time as an SLP (and travelling, of course!) If you enjoy listening to my podcast and want to buy me a coffee to show your support, I would greatly appreciate it.☕️ https://buymeacoffee.com/slpsoverseasEnjoy the episode!
