"An Appointment With God" - Convergence, Part 1 (Guest Preacher Dr. Ryan Danker)

On this All Saints Sunday we welcomed a special guest preacher who is also a member of our community: Dr. Ryan Danker, associate professor of Church History and Methodist Studies from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. Dr. Danker kicked off our series Convergence, focusing on worship, by exploring 1 John 1:1-7, in which John says the message of the gospel that has been handed down is something they have seen, heard, and touched. God is not an absentee landlord; God is revealed in Jesus, at once fully human and fully divine. Today, Jesus is known in bread and cup, and in water - in practices we call sacraments. God's love is tangible, it is real, we can taste it and touch it, and this is very good news.
