From the Heart of Acquilla Faye"I would like to say that I love you all from the depths of my heart and look forward to growing with you as we create a forest of prosperity, positivity, and community. I have the honor of raising my little prince, Savon, who brings joy, laughter, and inspiration to my life every minute of the day. He is the reflection of my efforts to reach others and help as many people as possible to experience peace and love despite of the storms that arise in our personal or professional lives. My upbringing was in NC with a family that was far from perfect (so that makes us normal) yet filled with love and exemplars of strength, resilience, education, enlightenment, faith, and self-confidence. As a youth, I always found joy working in the garden, cooking, teaching, and helping others."My current interest are much like in my youth with the addition of spending time with my son, reading and writing, and enjoying nature. I have been blessed with opportunities to explore various aspects of personality through formal education at Winston-Salem State University, East Carolina, and High Point University which has led to my career in education and the non-profit world for 11 years and counting. While being an educator, I have been nominated for teacher of the year three times, received Cambridge Who’s Who Amongst American Professionals Award, and spoken at the state conference for North Carolina Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) for two consecutive years.
